Cranchi Boats History & Heritage
Cranchi boasts a remarkable legacy, tracing its origins back to 1870 when Giovanni Cranchi established his boatyard on Lake Como. Although the Cranchi name officially emerged a few years later, the foundation of the business was laid. Notably, in 1866, Giovanni Cranchi had already embarked on his boat-building venture.
From its early days, Cranchi demonstrated a commitment to efficient and forward-thinking construction practices. By 1932, the company had garnered recognition for mass-producing wooden boats, setting a precedent for its future endeavors.
Transitioning into the 1970s, Cranchi evolved into a full-fledged GRP yacht builder, establishing new facilities in Piantedo near its original Como location. This shift marked the beginning of a transformative era for Cranchi, characterized by a continuous focus on mechanizing yacht production.
The pinnacle of this journey materialized in the Seventy Plant 4 yard, hailed as the world's most advanced yacht manufacturing facility. This cutting-edge establishment includes a futuristic 'cyber-physical' production line, showcasing the seamless collaboration between robots and skilled shipwrights.
