Standard propulsion comes from twin Volvo Penta IPS 1200s, propelling the S55 to top speeds upwards of 38 knots and a cruising speed of 32 knots. For those desiring enhanced performance, an optional upgrade to MAN V8 1200hp engines with Arneson surface drives is available, boosting the top speed to upwards of 46 knots and cruising speed to 40 knots.
