Delivered in 2020, HM 1 is a 34.16m motor yacht built by Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo. The yacht's exteriors have been penned by Zuccon, while Studio Lissoni has designed her interiors.
Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 8m beam and a 1.94m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 228 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 2019. This was the first yacht built on the SX112 design. Launched in September 2020 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in November 2020.
Exterior Design
A standout feature of HM1's exterior is the aft deck, a sprawling 92-square-meter area that truly epitomizes the concept of a luxury beach club at sea. This space is ingeniously framed by the graceful curves of the sheer line, which are not merely aesthetic but functional; they house fold-out terraces that when extended, invite the ocean in, transforming the deck into an expansive lounge area adorned with plush sunpads and comfortable seating.
The interaction with the sea is further enhanced by the aft deck's gym, which boasts glass walls and side terraces, allowing guests to maintain their fitness routines while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding waters. The dedication to utilizing glass is not only a design choice but a technical achievement, with structural reinforcements ensuring safety and durability akin to that found on much larger megayachts.
Moving beyond the aft deck, HM1's sleek lines and inverted-rake windshields contribute to a robust and masculine silhouette, while the use of extensive glazing maintains a visual connection with the marine environment. The yacht's silhouette is both contemporary and timeless, reflecting the vessel's crossover nature, which marries traditional elegance with modern innovation.
The upper saloon's formal dining area and adjacent cinema space are crowned by an open deck, perfect for sunbathing or enjoying the optional spa pool, a testament to the yacht's versatile design. The foredeck, another of HM1's jewels, offers an additional sanctuary for relaxation and socialization, ideal for enjoying refreshments and the company of friends while the yacht is anchored in picturesque locales.
Interior Design
Ascending the architecturally striking central staircase, encased in glass, one moves toward the heart of conviviality on the main deck. The saloon is a testament to the fusion of Eastern minimalism and European sophistication, reminiscent of a Tokyo apartment with an Italian flair. Enormous windows, standing at 2.2 meters in height, frame the ever-changing seascapes while understated furniture arrangements encourage social interaction without compromising on style or comfort.
At the aft, twin facing sofas present an inviting area for guests to engage and relax, flanked by the yacht's expansive side windows. Moving forward, the saloon reveals a dining tableau that could belong in a design museum. A mid-century-modern table is surrounded by an eclectic collection of restored antique chairs, each piece narrating its own history and contributing to an ensemble that is both a tribute to classic design and a celebration of Sanlorenzo's command of sprezzatura.
The upper saloon offers a formal dining area capable of hosting up to 10 guests, while a cinema space with a large flat-screen television and adaptable cushion arrangements caters to entertainment needs. The helm, with its optimal visibility and advanced navigation equipment, underscores the yacht's commitment to performance and seamanship.
Accommodation
HM1 is optimized to ensure that up to eight guests can enjoy a luxurious stay, enveloped by the vessel's sophisticated Italian craftsmanship.
At the heart of the lower deck, the master cabin is a sanctuary of serenity and style. This full-beam suite is designed to offer the owner a private retreat with a king-sized bed situated to port, providing an inviting focal point for relaxation. The master cabin is accented by an en suite head adorned with exquisite green Italian marble, which includes a spacious rain shower that boasts both generous shoulder room and over two meters of headroom. A mirrored wall on the starboard side cleverly conceals a flat-screen television, enhancing the cabin's sleek aesthetics while maximizing space.
Flanking the master cabin are twin VIP staterooms, both featuring en suite facilities that ensure privacy and convenience for guests. Each cabin is a haven of tranquility, designed to reflect the yacht's overall ethos of elegance and simplicity. The use of natural light and thoughtful space planning ensures that every guest will feel a sense of openness and connection to the sea.
An additional cabin is provided through the conversion of a secondary saloon, equipped to transform into comfortable sleeping quarters for two, emphasizing the yacht's versatile design. When not utilized as a cabin, this area benefits from abundant natural light and serves as a peaceful lounge space, thanks to the innovative atrium design integrating the main staircase.
The SX112 HM1 is also attentive to the needs of its crew, ensuring that those who work tirelessly behind the scenes have their own dedicated accommodations for up to five crew.
Performance & Capabilities
HM1 is powered by an advanced propulsion system comprising quadruple Volvo Penta IPS1350 engines. These engines are renowned for their efficiency and reduced environmental impact, aligning with contemporary yachting values. The cutting-edge technology of the Volvo Penta IPS system not only ensures a quieter and smoother ride but also contributes to the yacht's impressive performance. With these engines, HM1 is capable of achieving a spirited top speed of 23 knots, allowing guests to swiftly navigate between destinations while enjoying the pinnacle of luxury and comfort.
The yacht's range is optimized through the efficiency of its propulsion system, ensuring that HM1 can undertake extended voyages with confidence. With her 18,000-litre fuel tanks, she has a maximum range of 1,600 nautical miles at an economic speed of 12 knots, making her an ideal choice for long-range explorers seeking elegance and exclusivity.
The use of Volvo Penta IPS drives on HM 1 not only enhances the yacht's speed and efficiency but also contributes to her exceptional maneuverability and stability. The IPS system includes forward-facing, counter-rotating propellers and individually steerable pods under the hull, allowing for precise handling and directional control. This is particularly advantageous in challenging docking situations or when navigating through tight quarters.
Moreover, the relatively shallow draft of 1.94 meters at full load, afforded by the IPS drives, enables HM 1 to access shallower waters that are often off-limits to yachts of comparable size. This feature is particularly beneficial for cruising areas such as the Bahamas and Florida, where guests can explore secluded coves and coastlines in unparalleled comfort and style.
Amenities
In addition, a generous beach club offers direct access to the ocean. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Crowning the yacht is a spacious sundeck with an inviting spread of sunpads.
