Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 12.25m beam and a 3.7m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 1,887 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a heli-pad.

Launched in April 2012 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in July 2012.

Exterior Design

Built by Feadship for a sports-loving owner, the 78.5m Hampshire II, designed by Redman Whiteley Dixon (RWD), boasts a foredeck helicopter platform that doubles as a versatile sports field for basketball, tennis, baseball, badminton, and football, with a giant net keeping the ball in play.

At a towering 24.5m, Hampshire II is Feadship's tallest vessel to date. A two-person lift ascends to the crow's nest, 82ft above deck, offering an adventurous descent via zip wire. The beach club, styled in driftwood beach fashion, opens on three sides with a lowering transom door extending the bathing platform and shell doors on both sides. Integrated twin staircases provide sheltered access.

The classic Feadship bow leads to an operational foredeck, anchoring and mooring hardware, and a sprawling helipad. A central stairway across the coaming leads to guest seating and onward to the Portuguese bridge and side balcony wing stations.

Curvilinear design elements feature smart teak handrails, a striking dark blue hull contrasting with a white superstructure and dark glazing, creating a powerful profile with rounded deck levels and no harsh lines. The sundeck offers sheltered amenities, including a Jacuzzi pool, dining area, bar, and seating, shielded by high sides.

Aft, dedicated storage areas keep operational elements like the tenders clear of guest spaces.

Interior Design

The Feadship yacht Hampshire II is in private ownership and interior photographs are not available in then public domain.

Accommodation

Hampshire II provides accommodation for up to 12 guests in six suites comprising an owner's split level suite, one VIP cabin, two double cabins, and two twin cabins.

The yacht carries up to 21 crew onboard to ensure operational effectiveness, a relaxed luxury yacht experience, and a sports team.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 4000 M53R) 2,038hp engines, motor yacht Hampshire II is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 15 knots. With her 195,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,700 nautical miles at 15 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.

Leisure & Entertainment

The zip wire from the 25m high crow's nest and the helipad, which transforms into a sports court (see amenities), stand out as highlights of this extraordinary Feadship. A striking teak stairway provides access to all decks and eliminates the need for climbing steps to the crow's nest.

Designed for an experienced Feadship owner, the yacht has been referred to as 'fun afloat' in the yachting press. Even before its launch, the owner's guests and the yard teams challenged each other to a football match on the yacht's foredeck.

Hampshire II features an English bar on the upper deck and a wine cellar featuring an underwater sea viewing area.

Amenities

This is the first time we've included a zip wire in any amenities section, but Hampshire II offers just that: a zip wire from its 25m high crow's nest straight into the water. The yacht was designed by the bespoke UK-based design studio RWD for a sports enthusiast owner, so the helipad transforms into a sports court for basketball, tennis, baseball, badminton, and football. A giant net keeps the balls in play.

Special Features

The yacht features a helicopter landing platform on the foredeck which can be transformed into a sports area for tennis, badminton, basketball, baseball or football – a specially designed net placed round the teak deck will help to keep the ball in play. Those seeking more thrills can take the lift up to the crow’s nest and then shoot down a zip wire down into the sea.
