  • Sundeck with bar and pool
  • Impressive health and beauty center onboard
  • Cruising speed of 12 knots - range 3,400 nm
  • Enclosed foredeck with 'touch and go' helipad

Design & Construction

Designed around a steel hull and a steel/wood superstructure she features a 14.44m (47.3ft) beam and a 3.95m (12.9ft) draft. The yacht is built over five decks with an internal volume of 2,991 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Launched in December 2001 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months, and she was delivered to her owners in June 2002.

The yacht was originally intended as a cruise vessel under the name Sun Bay 1 until bought by an oil magnate who redesigned her to become his floating office and a 50-passenger yacht. The next owner then adapted her layout again to create 20 cabins for 40 guests, and moved the helipad to the foredeck to create space for tender storage on the bridge deck aft. The yacht received a refit in 2008, and a partial interior refit in 2016 and 2017.

Exterior Design

The exterior of Lauren L most notably features the enclosed  foredeck. This alteration has not only improved the yacht's aesthetic but has also paved the way for the addition of a 'touch and go' helipad, suitable for a Eurocopter EC 130 or a similar-sized aircraft, positioned just forward of the bridge for easy access.

With the removal of the former helipad at the aft of the bridge deck, space has been liberated, allowing for the storage of tenders—as well as jet-skis and an assortment of water toys. The boat deck is now dedicated to supporting the leisure activities that are integral to the yachting experience.

Interior Design

The interior design of the Lauren L offers a professional and well-appointed setting aimed at providing comfort and functionality. The use of premium marble throughout the yacht, particularly noticeable in the master bathroom, underlines the commitment to quality materials that are both durable and aesthetically pleasing.

The interior spaces of Lauren L prioritize practical luxury and guest convenience. This is evident in the salon and bar, where the ambiance is one of understated sophistication. The attention to detail in the design and layout of these areas ensures that they are not only visually appealing but also functional for the variety of activities that guests might engage in.

Accommodation

Lauren L is capable of hosting up to 40 guests across 20 well-appointed cabins and suites. The yacht's accommodation is spread over several decks, with a particular highlight being the master suite. Situated on the bridge deck, the master suite was formerly an open-air dining area but has been transformed into a private retreat complete with a large study/sitting room that leads to an equally large bedroom. The suite includes a walk-through wardrobe and a marble-lined bathroom, providing a personal haven for the occupants.

Adjacent to the master suite is the VIP suite, which offers a generous bedroom and a salon/study, aligning with the yacht's overall scale and providing an elevated guest experience.

The three executive guest suites on the same deck each featuring a sitting room and comfortable amenities.

The upper deck houses 10 suites, each crafted from what were initially 20 cruise ship cabins. These suites include a bedroom, shower room, sitting room, and walk-in wardrobe, maintaining a consistent style and high level of comfort throughout.

On the main deck, the remaining five guest cabins have been redesigned from a combination of former cabins. These rooms embrace a combined bedroom-sitting room concept, mirroring the design preferences expressed elsewhere on the yacht. Despite the varied configurations, all guest accommodations are equipped with modern entertainment systems and marble-trimmed shower rooms, ensuring a harmonious and luxurious experience.

The crew quarters are designed to accommodate 32 personnel in 17 cabins, ensuring that all operational aspects of the yacht are managed smoothly and that guest service is of the highest quality.

Performance & Capabilities

Lauren L is powered by a robust 1,850 kW MAK straight-six diesel engine, which is recognized for its dependability and fuel efficiency. This engine propels Lauren L to a cruising speed of slightly over 12 knots, with a maximum speed capability of 14 knots.

Fuel management is a critical aspect of any vessel's operation, and Lauren L comes with a substantial fuel capacity of 153,600 liters. This generous fuel storage enables the yacht to achieve a considerable range of 3,900 nautical miles at cruising speed.

For enhanced maneuverability, particularly in marinas and when docking, Lauren L is equipped with both bow and stern thrusters, each delivering 200 kW of power. These thrusters afford the captain increased precision and control, which is crucial for a yacht of this size.

Passenger comfort is paramount, especially when traversing open waters. Lauren L is fitted with Simplex stabilizers to reduce the motion of the yacht, ensuring a smoother and more comfortable experience for guests on board. This stabilization system is particularly beneficial in mitigating the roll of the yacht, contributing to an overall serene journey.

The yacht's technical infrastructure is further complemented by its high-capacity water production and storage systems. Lauren L is equipped with two watermakers, each capable of producing up to 23,000 liters of fresh water per day, ensuring an ample supply for guests and crew. The yacht's freshwater storage capacity is a substantial 128,300 liters, and it also includes a grey and black water storage system with a capacity of 49,600 liters.

Wellness

To enhance wellness onboard, Lauren L features a comprehensive beauty center equipped with a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, gym, aromatherapy facilities, and a relaxation room adorned with an aquarium. Additionally, guests can enjoy services at the hair and nail salon and indulge in relaxation in the massage room, ensuring a fully catered and rejuvenating experience.

Amenities

The yacht boasts a comprehensive range of amenities, including a fully equipped gym, spa, and beauty salon with dedicated staff offering services such as a steam room, sauna, aromatherapy room, and massage room equipped with LPG equipment. Additionally, there are facilities like a conference room, a library/TV room, and a children's playroom. The AV system underwent renewal in 2017, enhancing onboard entertainment. Notably, the main salon, dining room, and master cabin underwent an interior refit in both 2016 and 2017.

For shoreside events, the yacht can host 300 guests.
