Delivered in 2024, Monochrome is a 29.34m motor yacht built by Italian shipyard Arcadia. Her naval architecture and exterior design comes from the drawing boards of Arcadia, while Lobanov Design is responsible for her interior design.
Key Features
- Drop-down balconies
- Casual sky lounge
- Solar panel ceiling
- Main deck owner suite
Design & Construction
Designed around a planing GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.87m beam and a 1.77m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 214 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the second yacht built on the A96 design.
Exterior Design
Monochrome immediately sets itself apart with a strong focus on connection to the sea. At the stern, a transformer platform lifts and lowers, giving easy access either onto a quay or directly into the water. It can also cantilever outwards to lift a tender aboard. Although tender storage is available elsewhere on board, this versatile platform adds extra flexibility.
The yacht spans nearly 8m (26.2ft) across, even without extending the drop-down balconies. These balconies, fitted on either side, can further widen the beam, creating a remarkable sense of openness. Monochrome embraces a casual, relaxed style, shunning formality in favour of comfortable, welcoming spaces.
On the upper deck, freestanding furniture allows the area to be arranged however desired. A bimini shades the seating, and above it, the mast supports the radar, navigation lights, and antennas.
Forward on the bow, Monochrome carries a crane and dedicated storage for tenders and jet skis, with sockets set into the deck for securing chocks. The forward-most section features the anchor handling gear and bollards, maintaining the yacht’s practical edge.
Interior Design
Inside, Monochrome continues its seamless link with the outdoors. Sliding doors allow the main deck saloon to be completely enclosed when needed, but more often they stay open, connecting the inside to the sea. Interiors use muted colours, natural materials, and organic shapes, encouraging relaxation at every turn. Flooring is designed to feel comfortable and inviting.
The galley, located close to the crew areas, is compact but fully equipped, fitted with plenty of refrigeration, cooking facilities, and storage. A direct access door to the side deck keeps the crew's movements efficient and unobtrusive.
The helm, positioned on the upper deck, features a large signature Arcadia wheel and a full suite of navigation equipment. Surprisingly for a yacht of this size, Monochrome is powered by a four-engine Volvo Penta IPS system. A separate pantry next to the bridge provides additional storage, including another refrigerator.
Aft of the helm, the sky lounge offers a large, relaxed gathering space. It’s ideal for movie nights, casual conversations, or simply soaking up the atmosphere. The ceiling, fitted with solar panels, allows filtered light to dance through the space, adding another subtle connection to the outside world.
Lighting throughout Monochrome is soft and tucked discreetly behind frames and recesses, creating a warm, unobtrusive glow across the yacht’s interiors.
Accommodation
Monochrome accommodates 10 guests across 5 cabins, with additional space for up to 5 crew members across 3 dedicated cabins.
The owner’s cabin is located forward on the main deck. Expansive and serene, it takes full advantage of Monochrome’s wide beam. Large windows flood the space with natural light and offer striking views across the water. A generous desk provides space for working or personal use, and a truly impressive walk-in wardrobe ensures more than enough storage. The ensuite bathroom, finished in real stone, continues the yacht’s tactile, nature-inspired theme, with a rainfall shower and an organically shaped mirror enhancing the relaxed feel. Lighting remains discreet and soothing throughout.
On the lower deck, four additional guest cabins mirror the relaxed atmosphere of the owner’s suite. Two standard guest cabins feature dark ceilings, large hull windows, rainfall showers, and stone sinks. The other two are larger VIP cabins, offering more space and storage, along with their own ensuite bathrooms.
Crew areas are tucked neatly behind private access routes, ensuring smooth and discreet operation - something rarely seen on yachts under 30.5m (100ft). Two bunked crew cabins, each with an ensuite bathroom and separate shower, and a captain’s cabin with its own ensuite provide accommodation for up to 5 crew members. A crew dinette and rest area are located nearby, alongside laundry facilities and storage. Dedicated staircases and passageways keep crew movement efficient and unobtrusive.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by 4 x diesel Volvo Penta (IPS 1350) 1,350hp engines, motor yacht Monochrome is capable of reaching a top speed of 23 knots, and comfortably cruises at 19 knots. With her 12,700 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 2,000 nautical miles at an economic speed of 10 knots. Her planing hull design means she is fast and efficient as she slices through the water.
