North Star is a 37.95m motor yacht delivered by Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo in 2016. The yacht's exteriors have been penned by Francesco Paszkowski Design, while Marty Lowe has designed her interiors.

Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 8m beam and a 2.33m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 314 GT (Gross Tonnes).

She was completed at Sanlorenzo's Viareggio yard in Italy where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners.

Exterior Design

North Star features a cream-colored hull that contrasts elegantly with the white superstructure. The boot top and below-the-waterline sections are painted black, adding a touch of sophistication to the overall design. The exterior design is practical and functional, starting with the swim platform at the stern, which features a garage within the transom wall for tender storage.

Boarding the yacht via the passerelle, guests arrive on the aft deck, which is arranged with casual seating, including a row of bench seats. Moving forward, the main salon is accessible, providing a large L-shaped seating area and a bar section with built-in refrigeration and a sink.

The tri-deck design maximizes space, with additional outdoor areas including an alfresco dining area on the bridge deck and a sun deck with a bar and jacuzzi. The sun deck also features freestanding furniture and deck chairs, offering various seating options.

Forward of the bridge, the bow area includes a Portuguese bridge and multiple seating arrangements, such as L-shaped seating and a forward-facing table. The bow also houses the yacht's operational equipment, including winches, anchor gear, and cleats.

Interior Design

The main salon features a spacious L-shaped seating area, complemented by a bar section equipped with refrigeration and a sink. The salon's design includes a TV that rises up and a fold-out balcony, providing an open and airy atmosphere.

Moving forward, the dining area is accessible via side access doors on either side, enhancing the flow of movement throughout the yacht. The dining area also includes a model of the yacht, showcasing its profile.

The galley is fitted with Miele appliances and an entire wall of cold storage. A large window in the galley allows for natural light, enhancing the work environment. A dumbwaiter is included for convenience, connecting the galley with other parts of the yacht.

The helm, located on the bridge deck, features side access doors and a bench for added functionality. The captain's cabin is situated off the back of the bridge, providing easy access for the captain.

The Sky Lounge offers a secondary relaxation area with large windows and a bar equipped with refrigeration, ice makers, and a sink. The lounge connects to a stew pantry and includes a staircase linking it to the galley and crew area.

Accommodation

North Star offers comfortable and refined accommodation for up to 10 guests across five well-appointed staterooms. The owner's suite is situated on the main deck and features an office space, ample closet areas, and a contemporary light color palette. The suite includes a TV and an ensuite bathroom. The ensuite is marble-lined and equipped with a high-end Dornbracht shower system, which features a bench and an oversized rainfall shower head.

Four additional guest cabins are located on the lower deck. These include two cabins with two single beds each, with the potential for an additional Pullman berth to increase the sleeping capacity, and two mirrored VIP cabins, each with its own ensuite bathroom. Each cabin is equipped with ensuites that feature walk-in showers, vanities, and toilets.

She is also capable of carrying up to six crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience. The crew area is situated off the galley and includes multiple cabins, a crew mess, and a laundry room. The captain's cabin is located behind the bridge and is outfitted with a Pullman berth to accommodate an additional crew member if necessary.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C-32) 1,622hp engines, motor yacht North Star is capable of reaching a top speed of 18 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 34,197 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
