Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 6.8m beam and a 1.9m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 157 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in early 2005. This was the second yacht built on the Ocea Commuter 108 design. She was delivered to her owners in July 2007.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of the yacht Persuader features a robust superstructure crafted from aluminium, ensuring both durability and a lightweight build. The deck is made of teak, providing a classic and functional surface for guests. The hull is painted a dark blue, giving the vessel a strong and commanding presence on the water. The superstructure is finished in white, creating a clean and striking contrast with the hull. A red boot top stripe adds a touch of distinctiveness, while the area below the waterline is painted black, completing the yacht’s straightforward and purposeful aesthetic.

The main deck aft offers a socializing area that comfortably seats four people, with the potential to add more chairs for larger gatherings. The wrap-around decks provide easy movement, and a door that can be closed to shield from wind enhances onboard comfort. The JL audio system is installed for entertainment, capable of playing a variety of music as guests board.

Moving forward, the foredeck showcases a practical layout focused on utility. It houses a Jet Ski, a Zodiac tender with a powerful outboard engine, a kayak, and a stand-up paddleboard. These toys are easily managed with a solid crane, emphasizing Persuader’s readiness for various water activities. The yacht is also equipped with hatches that serve dual purposes: allowing natural light into the guest cabins below and providing emergency escape routes, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

The Portuguese bridge forward of the wheelhouse is designed for security, with chest-high bulwarks that offer protection in rough seas. This area exemplifies the yacht’s focus on safety and practicality, featuring a narrow, solid door to keep the bridge deck dry even in harsh conditions.

The sun deck is designed for relaxation and socializing, featuring a sunbathing area, a helm station for optional navigation, and a substantial space for guests to enjoy. The wooden table seats eight, and additional storage ensures that everything needed for a comfortable day on the water is within reach. The awning can be drawn back to allow sunbathing, and the aft section provides another socializing space with ample seating.

Interior Design

The interior design of Persuader is a blend of classical elements and functionality. The yacht’s interior primarily features light wood and mahogany, creating a timeless look without feeling overly formal. This combination of light wood with darker mahogany strips throughout the yacht provides a warm, inviting atmosphere akin to an informal seaside home.

The main salon is a notable space for socializing, furnished with a comfortable seating area that encourages relaxation and conversation. The design is practical and welcoming, allowing guests to sit comfortably even if they are still wet from a swim. The nautical-themed cushions and alternating wood tones complement the overall light design. Below the windows, there is ample storage space, essential for extended periods at sea. The smaller windows contribute to a sense of security, suitable for ocean crossings, and the central window can be opened to let in the sea breeze when conditions are calm.

Adjacent to the main salon is the informal formal dining area. This space is designed for casual, extended meals with friends and family. It includes practical features like windows that can be sealed shut during rough conditions or opened to let in fresh air. The dining area is conveniently located near the galley, ensuring that meals can be served quickly and efficiently.

The galley itself is equipped with high-quality appliances, including Gaggenau cooking equipment and a Miele dishwasher. It has all the necessary amenities for preparing meals for a larger group, such as ample storage, cooking tops, and a large refrigerator. The proximity of the galley to the dining area ensures that food service is both quick and efficient.

Persuader’s wheelhouse offers excellent visibility with almost 270-degree views, thanks to its elevated position and large windows. The wheelhouse is equipped with essential navigation tools, including two Caterpillar C-18 engines and zero-speed stabilizers for stability. The bridge also features a dayhead for convenience during long navigation periods.

Accommodation

Persuader offers well-appointed accommodation for a total of eight guests. The owner's suite is located on the lower deck, featuring a classical design with dark mahogany and lighter wood touches to break up the space. The suite includes a sofa that can fold out to accommodate small children, a workstation, and a TV with full entertainment options. The en suite bathroom is marble-clad, adding a touch of elegance. A notable feature is the watertight door, ensuring safety and compliance with MCA regulations.

In addition to the owner's suite, Persuader includes two twin cabins and one VIP cabin. The twin cabins are located to port and starboard, each equipped with an additional Pullman berth, providing flexible sleeping arrangements. The VIP cabin, located forward, features two single berths instead of a double, offering extra versatility, especially useful for chartering purposes. All guest cabins are equipped with TVs and en suite bathrooms, ensuring comfort and privacy.
