Ocea shipyard has started construction on its tenth motor yacht, which will be the first by the French shipyard built to meet IMO Tier III emission standards.
The 32.7m (107ft) Ocea 33 superyacht is the fourth hull in Ocea’s Commuter 108 series, and in keeping with the rest of the Ocea fleet, it will be completely custom built.
The guiding principle behind the design was reducing the boat’s environmental footprint and in particular its greenhouse gas emissions. As well as meeting IMO Tier III emissions standards, the yacht will also be equipped with the latest generation of batteries to keep the main onboard comfort features running at night without the need for generators.
Built with an aluminum hull and superstructure and accommodating up to eight guests across four staterooms, the yacht will have a range of 4,000 nautical miles and features design work by Pierre Frutschi. She is due for delivery in 2022.
Ocea was established in 1987 and operates from three production sites on the French Atlantic coast. It delivered its first motor yacht in, 30m (98ft) ‘Espiritu Santo’, in 2002, and since then eight more have followed, the largest of which was 47m (154ft) ELISABET in 2011.
