Maiora Expands its M Line with the New M|36 Model

Italian shipyard Maiora, part of the Next Yacht Group, has unveiled the first model in its newly developed M line—the Maiora M|36.

Measuring 37 meters in length, this sleek and sophisticated superyacht is built with a composite hull and superstructure across three decks.

The introduction of the M|36 represents a bold new direction for the brand, focusing on performance, luxury, and creative design.

Expansive Aft Deck and Open-Air Living

The exterior of the Maiora M|36 is a product of the renowned Italian design studio Quartostile, which previously collaborated with the shipyard on the Maiora 36 Exuma. The M|36 exhibits a sporty, elegant profile featuring an “interplay of light and shadow” that integrates with the yacht’s cool-toned hull, dark glazing, and warm teak accents and an expansive flybridge.

Our goal was not simply to design the lines of a yacht but to establish a new standard that can be applied across different sizes, setting a benchmark for the future of the brand

Notably, the M|36's stern design draws inspiration from the highly acclaimed Benetti Oasis Deck concept, which has set new standards in superyacht design by offering an expansive and excellent connection to the sea. This design features fold-out wings that extend the deck closer to the water, an integrated infinity pool, and an unobstructed 270-degree view off the stern, creating a vast, convivial space. By incorporating similar elements, the M|36 aims to provide owners with a luxurious and immersive connection to the marine environment, positioning itself between Benetti's Oasis 34M and Oasis 40M models.

Our goal was not simply to design the lines of a yacht but to establish a new standard that can be applied across different sizes, setting a benchmark for the future of the brand,” said a spokesperson from Quartostile. “The M|36 expresses a belief that design is a language capable of evoking emotions and transforming navigation into an unparalleled experience.”

Luxury Interiors with Excellent Indoor-Outdoor Living

The yacht’s interior has been crafted by Acube Design in collaboration with Maiora’s in-house Centro Stile. Inspired by nature, the design incorporates fluid shapes, continuous surfaces, and a selection of natural materials to foster an atmosphere of relaxation and sophistication. The teak flooring extends from the exterior into the interiors.

Accommodation is available for up to 12 guests across five cabins, including a full-beam owner’s suite located on the main deck. The lower deck houses four additional guest suites, while crew quarters provide space for up to five members. Large openable side windows in the saloon and a full-beam bow further the yacht’s integration with the surrounding environment.

Customization and Performance Options

Flexibility is a key element of the M|36, with the upper deck designed to cater to an owner’s specific preferences. The space features a lounge, dining area, bar, and sunbathing zones, while at the stern, fold-down bulwarks and a retractable pool option allow for multiple configurations.

For propulsion, owners can choose between twin MAN V12-2200 engines, offering a top speed of 24 knots, or twin MTU 16V2000 M96L engines, pushing the yacht to speeds of up to 30 knots.

The first unit of the Maiora M|36 is currently under construction at the shipyard’s facility in Viareggio, Italy, with the motor yacht delivery expected in summer 2026.

New Models in the Maiora Fleet

In addition to the M|36, Maiora has been expanding its range with the announcement of other new models. The latest iterations in the shipyard’s Walkaround and Exuma lines continue to push boundaries in yacht design, offering more customization options, increased efficiency, and enhanced comfort. These models cater to owners looking for exploration capabilities and open-deck versatility.

Maiora’s Recent Deliveries in 2024

Maiora successfully delivered three yachts in 2024, demonstrating the shipyard’s ability to meet high client demand and maintain its commitment to craftsmanship. Among these deliveries were Lady Betty , a 35-meter Maiora 35 Exuma, Tofan , another Maiora 35 Exuma, and Ship Happens , a 30-meter Maiora 30 Walkaround.

Motor yacht Lady Betty and Tofan were both designed for long-range cruising, featuring rugged exploration capabilities and contemporary luxury. These models include reinforced hulls, spacious outdoor living areas, and versatile beach clubs.

Meanwhile, motor yacht Ship Happens exemplifies the Walkaround concept, maximizing outdoor enjoyment with an expansive, open-deck layout while maintaining sleek aesthetics and high-performance capabilities.

Maiora is not a high-volume producer, typically constructing only two to three superyachts per year. This limited production approach allows for greater attention to detail, ensuring that each vessel is produced with a high level of refinement and exclusivity. Owners benefit from a more personalized experience, with the ability to work closely with the shipyard to fine-tune their vessel’s specifications. Additionally, the lower production numbers mean Maiora yachts retain a sense of rarity within the market, appealing to buyers who seek something distinctive and not mass-produced.
