Delivered in 1999, Senses is a 59.22m expedition yacht built by German shipyard Fr. Schweers Shipyard. The yacht's refined interiors have been crafted by Philippe Starck, while her exteriors have been penned by Francis Design.

Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and a steel/aluminium superstructure she features a 12.7m beam and a 4.3m draft. The yacht is built over 6 decks with an internal volume of 993 GT (Gross Tonnes).
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Exterior Design
Senses spans over 59 meters and encompasses four decks, showcasing a practical layout for both exploration and relaxation.
The cohesive design of Senses is characterized by its robust and sturdy structure, equipped to navigate remote and exquisite locations worldwide. The yacht's silhouette is purposeful, with clean lines and an uncluttered profile, ensuring that it remains in harmony with the seas it traverses.
Central to the yacht's exterior appeal is the pool deck, which serves as a versatile hub for daily activities. This area is thoughtfully arranged, providing a spacious dining table and generous sunbathing spaces on either side. The pool deck allows for effortless transition from dining to lounging.
Senses features exterior decks that are designed to cater to a variety of experiences. The aft deck presents a sheltered setting for alfresco dining, while the top deck offers an exclusive sunpad area for privacy and panoramic views.
The yacht's capability for adventure is evident in its array of water toys and tenders, each chosen for their specific utility in enhancing the on-water experience.
The yacht features a strategically integrated slipway within its stern, designed to facilitate the automated launch and recovery of the tender. Activation of the system is achieved through a simple button press, causing the stern door to pivot outward, forming an extended ramp that tilts approximately 32 degrees from the horizontal. This alignment positions two guidance posts, affixed to the door's interior, into a vertical stance. To launch, the tender pilot engages a remote, releasing a clamp at the boat's stem, initiating its descent into the water via the slipway.
Recovery operates with similar efficiency. Opening the stern triggers the deployment of a V-shaped carriage, dubbed the 'travellator,' equipped with an automatic capture mechanism, along a central track to align beneath the guidance posts. The Nelson navigates into this setup, aligning with the travellator, which then securely attaches to a receptacle on the tender's keel. A hydraulic chain-drive system then retrieves the tender, sliding it atop built-in rollers to its storage location, where it is clamped into place. The system's design negates manual hook attachments or load stabilization by the crew, enabling operation even while the yacht is underway.
No space is wasted; bridging the slipway, a large helipad is raised above awaiting guests' arrival.
Interior Design
Natural woods serve as the foundation of Senses' interior palette, providing warmth and an organic connection to the marine environment. These are complemented by an array of soft, tactile materials that enhance the tactile experience of the yacht's living spaces. The result is an ambiance that feels contemporary and inviting, encouraging relaxation and social interaction.
Artwork plays a significant role in defining the character of the yacht's interior. Each piece has been carefully selected not only to harmonize with the décor but also to reflect the yacht's intrinsic link to the diverse destinations it visits. At the core of the yacht's communal areas lies the pool lounge. This space is designed to be versatile, offering guests a tranquil retreat from the sun-drenched deck. The interiors here are illuminated by abundant natural light and furnished with a careful eye for detail, providing a comfortable and relaxed setting for leisure and entertainment.
The main salon is another key space within Senses, crafted to be both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Its layout prioritizes ease of movement and interaction, ensuring that guests can enjoy the company of one another in a setting that feels both spacious and intimate.
Equally important is the Observation Lounge, a space designed for contemplation and relaxation. It offers guests a panoramic 180-degree view, creating an immersive experience as the scenery unfolds around them. The lounge is a perfect enclave for enjoying a quiet drink and unwinding after a day full of adventure.
Accommodation
Senses has the capacity to accommodate up to 12 guests in its well-appointed cabins, each designed with an emphasis on comfort and space. The yacht features six guest cabins, with the potential to convert an additional space into a seventh cabin if required.
The master suite is a spacious sanctuary for the yacht's primary guests, complete with a lounge and study area for moments of quiet contemplation or work. The suite also includes a walk-in wardrobe, offering ample space for personal belongings. For rest and relaxation, the master suite is equipped with a shower and jacuzzi bath, providing a private spa-like experience. The gyro-stabilized bed in the master suite is a notable feature, designed to enhance comfort by reducing the sensation of motion while at sea.
The lower deck of Senses houses two double cabins, each with its own ensuite facilities, ensuring privacy and ease for guests. Additionally, two twin cabins on the same deck offer versatile sleeping arrangements, also accompanied by ensuite bathrooms. On the main deck, there is a double cabin that provides convenient access and is situated adjacent to a gym/massage room. This space can be transformed into an optional seventh cabin, offering flexibility to accommodate additional guests.
For the crew, who are integral to the smooth operation of the yacht and the satisfaction of those on board, Senses provides separate accommodations. These are designed to ensure that the crew of up to 13 has their own comfortable living spaces, allowing them to rest and be fully prepared to deliver exceptional service to the guests.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Deutz (TBD 620 V12) 12-cylinder 1,600hp engines running at 1550rpm, motor yacht Senses is capable of reaching a top speed of 15 knots, and comfortably cruises at 10 knots. With her 147,600 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 7,485 nautical miles. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.
Amenities
The yacht features a well-equipped gym, allowing her guests to keep up their fitness regimes at sea. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Senses also features deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
