The 90' Sport Fisher yacht Sir Jon II was delivered to her owners in 1999 by American shipyard Hatteras. Her naval architecture and exterior design comes from the drawing boards of Jack Hargrave, while Patrick Knowles is responsible for her interior design.

Key Features

  • Enlarged 170sq ft cockpit
  • Upper cockpit observation deck
  • Fully equipped galley and dinette
  • Enclosed pilothouse

Design & Construction

Designed around a planing GRP hull and superstructure she features a 21'5" beam and a 6'6" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 135 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

The exterior of the Sir Jon II yacht is focused on catering specifically to sportfishing. The yacht features a slightly extended cockpit compared to other sportfishers. This provides nearly 170 square feet of space dedicated to fishing activities, equipped with an array of lockers and a comprehensive bait preparation area that includes a sink, cutting boards, and a live baitwell.

The swim platform is designed at the same height as the bottom of the transom door, facilitating easy and safe handling of fish into the cockpit. Above the cockpit, an upper level serves as an observation deck. Guests can watch fishing activities or simply enjoy the cruise, sheltered from the sun by the deck's overhang and the flybridge.

Sir Jon II's flybridge, positioned atop the pilothouse, offers additional height for spotting fish. The hydraulic operation of the outriggers simplifies their positioning and use.

Interior Design

Sir Jon II's salon is notably large for a sportfisher yacht, providing ample space for relaxation and socializing. At the aft of the salon, a wet bar with a sink is conveniently placed for easy access from both the salon and the aft deck.

Adjacent to the salon, the galley is efficiently designed, enclosed on three sides and equipped with a range of appliances to cater to the needs of the crew and guests. Expansive counter areas facilitate meal preparation. Opposite the galley, the dinette serves as a casual dining area or a lounge space for informal gatherings. Just aft of the galley, an internal staircase leads to the pilot house, while a day head is situated forward of the dinette.

The helm area in the pilothouse is enclosed and accessible via a curved staircase from the salon. Frameless windows provide a comprehensive view from the command center, which is equipped with advanced electronic systems for navigation, communication, and fish finding. The pilothouse is climate-controlled, ensuring comfort in various weather conditions. Additional amenities include a built-in stereo and entertainment center, comfortable seating, and a day head with a vanity.

Accommodation

The lower deck of the yacht Sir Jon II is dedicated to guest accommodations, offering a comfortable and private retreat for up to eight guests. The master stateroom is a standout feature, occupying the full beam of the yacht and equipped with a king-sized bed. Guests in the master stateroom can also enjoy the convenience of dual walk-in closets and an en-suite bathroom that includes a large whirlpool bathtub.

Positioned forward is the VIP stateroom, which provides a queen-sized bed and a private bathroom with a stall shower. Additional guest accommodations include two more staterooms, each with its own private bathroom and shower facilities. The port stateroom offers the flexibility of sliding twin beds that can convert into a queen-sized bed, while the starboard stateroom is fitted with a queen-sized bed.

Crew accommodations on Sir Jon II include a dedicated captain’s cabin to port and two bunks to starboard, with a shared bathroom and shower, ensuring that the crew of up to three is well-catered for during voyages.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (16 V 2000) 2,000hp engines, motor yacht Sir Jon II is capable of reaching a top speed of 26 knots, and comfortably cruises at 23 knots. With her 4,200 gallon fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 1,900 nautical miles at an economic speed of 11 knots. Her planing hull design means she is fast and efficient as she slices through the water.
