The 29.36m motor yacht Sovereign was delivered to her owners in 1966 by American shipyard Burger Boat. Her interior design, exterior styling and naval architecture come from the drawing boards of Burger Boat's in-house design team.

Key Features

  • Includes full-beam owner suite with ensuite.
  • Wide side decks for easy movement.
  • Features spacious country kitchen.
  • Range of 2,500 nautical miles at 10 knots.

Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 6.65m beam and a 1.68m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 150 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

Sovereign is defined by its distinctive clipper bow which enhances its performance on the water. Constructed entirely from aluminium, both the hull and superstructure promise durability and a lighter weight, facilitating graceful navigation. The deck is finished in teak.

The hull, painted in a pristine white, is complemented below the waterline with a black finish. The choice of Awlgrip for the hull finish ensures a surface that resists the harsh marine environment, maintaining the yacht's appearance for years to come.

At the bow, anchor chain storage is neatly integrated, accompanied by teak bench seating under a modest awning, offering a space for relaxation. Side decks are notably wide, allowing for easy movement around the vessel, and feature side access doors for additional convenience.

The cockpit area is a focal point for outdoor living, equipped with a dining setup that doubles as a sun pad. This space, protected from the elements when necessary, serves as a versatile area for dining or lounging.

The flybridge outfitted with freestanding furniture, a built-in barbecue, and storage solutions, all under the protection from the sun. The tender and possible jet ski storage demonstrate the yacht's readiness for adventure.

Yacht SOVEREIGN features an aluminium hull for balanced speed and space, enhanced by a distinctive clipper bow and a white and black Awlgrip finish for durability.

Interior Design

The main salon serves as a central gathering space, equipped with comfortable seating areas that facilitate social interaction among guests. The inclusion of updated electronics ensures that entertainment options meet contemporary standards, without detracting from the overall classic feel of the yacht. The salon's large windows admit ample natural light, enhancing the interior's welcoming ambiance. Wood paneling provides a warm and inviting atmosphere, while the use of glass in the main salon enhances the sense of openness and connection to the surrounding marine environment.

The galley retains a retro aesthetic, with refrigeration units that mimic the appearance of older models, ensuring that the space remains in harmony with the rest of the yacht's interior. Modern appliances are installed alongside these vintage-styled elements, providing the necessary tools for gourmet meal preparation. Adjacent to the galley is a formal dining area.

The helm is equipped with updated navigational technology, including Garmin multifunction displays, while still preserving its classic design elements. The oversized steering wheel and bench seating with storage drawers beneath are characteristic of the yacht's era, offering both practicality and a nod to the past. The side access door from the bridge enhances functionality, allowing for easy movement around the yacht.

Accommodation

Sovereign is equipped to host up to eight guests in four cabins. The full-beam owner suite offers a spacious area with a comfortable settee, storage solutions, and a large ensuite bathroom equipped with a double vanity and a walk-in shower.

Adjacent to the owner's suite, the yacht houses three additional cabins designed to accommodate guests. These include two twin cabins and one double cabin. These guest cabins are equipped with modern air conditioning systems to ensure a comfortable environment, and each features an ensuite bathroom, with configurations varying between tub-shower combos and stand-up showers.

A unique hybrid room is also available, presenting a flexible space that can serve as an additional cabin with a daybed setup or a sitting room, depending on the guests' needs. This room is connected to an ensuite bathroom, enhancing its utility and convenience.

Soverign offers accommodation for five crew. The crew quarters are accessible through a dedicated staircase, leading to a well-sized crew mess area, complete with L-shaped seating, a TV, and a commercial washer and dryer. The captain's cabin and two additional crew cabins provide private and communal accommodations for the yacht's crew.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Cummins (QSM-11M1) 580hp engines, motor yacht Sovereign is capable of reaching a top speed of 15 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
