Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminum superstructure she features a 17.3m (56.7ft) beam and a 4.8m (15.7ft) draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 3,933 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a helipad.

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in September 2011, the yacht undertook sea trials over the following months and was delivered to the Bertarelli family in March 2012.

Exterior Design

From afar, Vava II presents an elegant silhouette, with a nod to contemporary styling that doesn't compromise on the timeless allure of classic yacht design. The unflared plumb bow and clean lines are balanced by subtle black highlights in the superstructure and occasional fashion plate curves.

Up close, Vava II unfolds her true charm. The sleek linear profile reveals an array of subtle curves that hint at a sailing pedigree. She is not merely a yacht to be admired but a vessel that encourages engagement and exploration. Every inch of the 96-meter yacht is designed to invite interaction, from the curved lines of the superstructure to the elegant fashion plate details.

The top deck sky bar opens out onto a panoramic seating area, perfect for enjoying the view. Aft of the sky bar is a dedicated helipad, leading into a reception area with a table seemingly shaped by the downdraft from the rotors. This arrangement is not only efficient but also adds to the yacht's overall aesthetic appeal.

The exterior design of Vava II is mindful of her purpose as a vessel built not to isolate from the sea but to engage with it. The bridge deck forward is all business and designed around the efficient operation. The aft, on the other hand, is a dedicated wellness area.

The yacht's foredeck is clean and uncluttered, hiding an extensive toy chest containing a 6-meter ski boat, two rescue tenders, PWCs, windsurfers, and watersports equipment, all launched through gull-wing doors. Even the practical aspects of the yacht are designed with an eye for aesthetics, further enhancing her overall appeal.

Vava II is not merely a luxury yacht, but a floating home that offers a unique mix of elegance, comfort, and top-notch amenities to its guests

Interior Design

The interior design of Vava II is a study of elegance and sophistication, where natural, raw materials meet haute couture design. The dominant materials used throughout the yacht provide a signature color and texture palette, setting the stage for the perfect blending of functionality and aesthetics.

The minimalist approach to the yacht's interior design enhances rather than detracts from the overall warmth of the space. Barefoot walks along the bleached teak flooring and woven leather carpets are a sensory delight, adding to the comforting ambiance of the yacht. The fabrics used throughout mirror the grain of spruce, and the furniture showcases an interesting interplay between horizontal and vertical elements, further enhancing the visual interest of the interior.

The main deck saloon, with its muted colors and contemporary furnishings, is a haven of comfort. However, its true beauty lies in its transformative nature. The 180-degree floor-to-ceiling windows retract into the superstructure, creating an inside-outside space that directly connects to the large, 7m (22.9ft) aft deck pool. This space evolves throughout the day, transitioning from a serene morning retreat into a vibrant social hub by night.

The interior design of Vava II is not just visually stunning but also deliberately functional. The dry store, for instance, doubles as a chiller for extended cruising, a testament to the owner's attention to detail and direct involvement in the construction process. This practicality extends to the bridge, designed for efficient operation, and the engine room, hinting at the yacht's environmental consciousness.

Accommodation

The yacht can comfortably accommodate 36 guests across its 18 cabins. Each cabin is meticulously designed, with the finest attention to detail, offering guests an unparalleled level of comfort and luxury. The cabins are spread across its multiple decks, offering stunning views of the surrounding seascape.

The master suite on Vava II is truly a sight to behold. Known for its spaciousness and luxurious design, it offers a private retreat for the yacht owner. The suite features an open plan layout, adding to the sense of space. The connection to the outside is evident in the design, with large windows allowing ample natural light to flood the room and offer breathtaking views of the ocean.

In addition to the master suite, the yacht also boasts a VIP cabin that can rival the suites on many other luxury yachts. The full-width VIP suite is its own entity, offering the ultimate in luxury and comfort to its occupants.

The yacht also provides ample accommodation for its crew. This includes cabins for the pilot, the chief engineer, and the captain, along with additional offices for both the captain and the yacht's purser. The design and layout of these cabins reflect the efficient operation of the yacht.

Performance & Capabilities

Powering the yacht are four MTU engines configured in two paired father-and-son configurations. These engines collectively deliver over 4,000 kW to each of the two shafts, resulting in a total drive output of 8,410 kW through the inward-turning variable pitch propellers. This power configuration allows the Vava II to slice through the water with ease and precision, delivering a smooth and comfortable ride for all on board.

The yacht's plumb bow design allows it to slice through the waves, and it has proven capable of handling rough passages, including seas as high as 4.5 meters.

The Vava II is also designed with the capability to maneuver in close quarters with precision, a feature that is greatly beneficial when docking or navigating in tight spaces. A dynamic positioning system adds to the yacht's impressive maneuverability.

Moreover, the yacht is equipped with stabilizers to ensure a smooth and comfortable ride, minimizing the effects of the sea's waves and currents. This makes the Vava II not only a powerful and efficient vessel but also an extremely comfortable one.

One of the key features of the Vava II is its impressive range. The yacht was designed for extended cruising, with a range that allows it to undertake long voyages without the need for frequent refueling. This makes the Vava II an excellent choice for those looking to explore far-flung destinations with the utmost comfort.

In addition to its mechanical prowess, the Vava II also showcases a commitment to environmental responsibility. At the forward entrance of the engine room, several waste disposal systems are present, indicating the yacht's ability to minimize its impact on the marine environment and further extend its cruising capabilities.

Wellness

The bridge deck wellness spa and gym offer a luxurious retreat with amenities like a professional hair salon, a massage and beauty treatments room, a spacious hammam, and a glass-walled fitness area. Adjacent is an infinity-edged stainless hot tub on the aft deck.
