Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 12m beam and a 4.65m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 1,643 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Exterior Design
The exterior design of the White Rose Of Drachs reflects a straightforward and functional approach. The yacht features a raked bow, contributing to its streamlined profile and efficient navigation through water. Both the hull and superstructure are painted in a clean white color, presenting a cohesive and understated appearance. The boot top and below the waterline areas are painted in blue, adding a subtle contrast to the overall look. This choice of colors ensures the yacht maintains a classic and simple aesthetic.
The aft deck features a round table flanked by semicircular sofas and a six-seater sofa along the transom. Four polished stainless steel pillars support the upper deck, adorned with glass uplighters that reflect the petals of the yacht's rose emblem. Siberian larch, used for the decking, replaces traditional teak.
The upper aft deck is designed for alfresco dining, with an oval table seating 12 guests and four banquettes for cocktails. Further steps lead to the sun deck, which offers panoramic views, a large jet-pump pool with mosaic tiles, and seating arrangements for relaxation. The sun deck also includes a height-adjustable mahogany table, a gas barbecue, and a food preparation area.
The bridge, located on the upper deck, provides excellent visibility through tall vertical windows and houses the latest navigation and monitoring equipment. Guests can observe from leather sofas positioned behind the control console.
White Rose of Drachs's tender bay stores three vessels: a 10-meter Aquariva tender, a 10-meter Ribtec, and a 5.6-meter Ribtec crew tender/water-ski boat. These are launched and retrieved using an overhead gantry through side doors.
Interior Design
The interior design of White Rose Of Drachs, executed by Donald Starkey Designs, emphasizes a blend of classic aesthetics and modern functionality. The main materials used throughout the yacht include dark wood, Italian marble, gilded wrought-metal, and mahogany-stained cherrywood. The design continuity is maintained across all decks with textured cream carpets and murals by Italian artist Mariani Affreschi.
Upon entering the main deck, guests are greeted with a central corridor floored with inlaid white Italian marble. The main spiral staircase, featuring a dark wood surround and gilded wrought-metal banister, ascends to the top deck. The staircase is complemented by a lift for ease of access.
The main saloon, known as the Rose Room, is positioned just aft of the bridge. It includes a marble-topped bar and features a white marble and lapis lazuli fireplace with a gas fire. The seating area is arranged in a U-shape around a glass coffee table, with additional seating areas providing various options for guests.
The drawing room on the main deck includes a bar area, with doors leading out to the aft deck. The room is furnished with gold and azure armchairs and sofas by Zoffany and Watts, surrounding a leather-upholstered ottoman. Lighting is provided by China standard lamps and concealed ceiling lights, all controlled by Lutron dimmer touch panels.
The formal dining room is located on the upper deck aft and features a circular table by David Fletcher that can expand to seat up to 12 guests. The room is adorned with silk chair coverings in Campari red, sable, and caramel stripes, matching the heavy drapes. A crystal chandelier, inset into a white concave dome, hangs above the table. The room benefits from substantial natural light through tall windows and doors.
The gymnasium, located opposite the owner's study, is equipped with a cycling machine, weights, and a full-height mirrored wall fitted with a barre. The gym provides a functional space for physical activity.
The galley, located on the lower deck, is predominantly made from stainless steel and is well-equipped with modern appliances, including an eight-ring Thermaline electric hob and oven, a pizza oven, a Panasonic microwave, a breadmaker, two Hobart dishwashers, and a coffee maker. The galley also includes two freezers, two refrigerators, an icemaker, and a large walk-in fridge/freezer.
Accommodation
White Rose of Drachs accommodates up to 12 guests in five well-appointed guest staterooms and an expansive owner's suite, all accessed via a central corridor on the main deck.
The owner's suite spans the full beam of the yacht. This suite includes a study with a custom-built desk, wide bookshelves, and advanced technical features such as electrically raised computer displays. The bedroom is flanked by two sitting rooms, each furnished with casual chairs, a sofa, and a day bed. The suite also features large windows with electric blinds, providing ample natural light. The central bed is accented by carved wooden pillars and classical paintings. The suite includes his-and-hers bathrooms with marble features, a full-sized bath, and a double shower, leading to a dressing room equipped with full-width wardrobes and an emergency exit.
The five guest staterooms are thematically designed and named after famous painters: Botticelli, Canaletto, Manet, Turner, and Velasquez. Each room features a copy of a notable work by the respective artist, and the decor matches the base colors of these paintings. Two of the staterooms are family rooms with twin beds and a Pullman berth. All guest rooms include en suite bathrooms with gold-inlaid washbasins, rain showers, and Italian marble throughout.
The crew quarters are located on the lower deck and forward section of the yacht, designed to house 18 crew members. There are eight twin-bunked crew cabins and a double cabin for the captain. The crew have access to a large mess area and a separate galley, ensuring efficient and smooth operations.
