Horizon PC60 Rivals

Which yacht is best for you? As always, it’s all about personal choice.

Accommodation

If accommodating guests overnight is your main concern, then the Horizon PC60 which offers well-appointed accommodation for up to 6 guests with its 3 cabin layout option does not match its rivals. Many of its competitors including the Sunreef Yachts 60 Sunreef and Lagoon 630 MY offer slightly more guest accommodation sleeping up to 12 guests in 6 cabins, making them better choices for those seeking to maximise the number of family and friends they can sleep onboard. However, for maximum comfort for the owner, the PC60 features a master cabin with an en-suite bathroom and a dressing table. Equivalently, the Silent Yachts 62 Open are also only designed for smaller groups offering up to 4 cabins, however they still offer an exceptional level of comfort for family vacations.

Performance

In terms of cruising performance, the Horizon PC60 leads the way with an impressive cruising speed of 20 knots thanks to its twin 705hp Cummins QSM11 715mhp engines and maximum speed of 27 knots at 2,500rpm. Closely followed by, the Prestige M8 with a respectable cruising speed of 15 knots. The Sunreef Yachts 60 Sunreef also impresses with a cruising speed of 14 knots. On the other hand, for those not in a hurry the Lagoon 630 MY, with the slowest cruising speed of 12 knots, emphasizes stability and comfort over outright speed and enjoying the journey over the destination.

Unique Characteristics

Each yacht also brings unique features to the forefront. The Sunreef Yachts 60 Sunreef impresses with its extensive range of 2,750 nautical miles, ideal for long voyages. The Fountaine Pajot Power 67, Lagoon 630 MY and Silent Yachts 62 Open all feature shallow drafts for yachts of this size, allowing them to navigate waters inaccessible to deeper vessels. The performance of the Prestige M8 is especially impressive, with a top speed of 20 knots and cruising speed of 15 knots.

Summary

Despite stiff competition, the Horizon PC60 stands out with notable features and design elements. These yachts cater to a wide range of preferences and needs, making the choice a matter of personal taste and specific requirements in the world of luxury yachting.
