The Italian based shipyard, which represents the Ferretti Group’s large yacht division, closed 2020 with seven yachts sold in the period from September to November.
This was in addition to five orders booked during the summer, in a year that saw a total of 15 Custom Line yachts launched. These included the eagerly anticipated Navetta 30, the yard’s first collaboration with architect Filippo Salvetti on the exteriors and Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel on the interiors.
A spokesperson for Custom Line pinpointed the reason for the impressive figures, saying: “The brand owes this success to its ability to build innovative yachts that are trendsetters on the international yachting scene for their style, functional design, space and attention to detail, with guarantees of comfort at sea, safety and customisation. All this in conjunction with ongoing research to ensure that owners and their families have an enjoyable experience at sea and an on-board lifestyle characterised by total privacy. “
The strong performance in 2020 supports evidence that superyachts are increasingly being viewed as a safe and secure option for leisure in the COVID and post-COVID environments, with a number of other yards declaring strong sales.
These include Heesen, which has reported good sales in their Steel Range, Sirena has announced they have sold 60 yachts over the past three years and Sanlorenzo also revealed they closed the first quarter of 2020 with an increase in net profit of 84% on the same period last year.
The latest seven Custom Line yachts to be sold will be built at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona,
