Norwegian builder Fjord Yachts has unveiled its latest additions: the Fjord 490 Open and Fjord 490 Sport, a pair of walkaround yacht models that combine Nordic design, Italian flair, and German engineering.
The Fjord 490's exterior is a masterclass in functional design, with sleek, sculpted lines and advanced hydrodynamics ensuring a smooth, stable ride. The standout feature of the new boat model, however, is its expansive walkaround deck: perfect for socializing and providing easy access to all onboard areas.
The large T-Top offers effective sun and weather protection, cleverly integrating into the yacht's streamlined design. The deck also features two generous sunpad islands and fold-down side balconies. The over 5-square-meter aft sunpad with an adjustable front section provides unobstructed views and can transform into a forward-facing bench for casual dining. Furthermore, the Fjord 490 motor yacht offers ample storage beneath the aft sun pads for additional belongings or equipment.
Below deck, the new Fjord 490 offers two double cabins as standard, with an option to replace one with a U-shaped seating area for a more communal space. The full-beam master cabin amidships offers ample space and comfort, and impressive hull windows flood the interior with natural light.
Designed for entertaining, the Fjord 490 also boasts a fully functional galley, VIP seating near the helm with dedicated chart plotters, and up to two private heads with separate showers.
Understanding that every yacht owner has unique tastes, Fjord provides extensive customization options for both the 490 Open and the 490 Sport, and buyers can choose from a variety of interior finishes, fabrics, and colors to create a new yacht that reflects their style. The cabin layout is also highly customizable. The standard setup includes two double cabins, but bulkheads can be added or removed, beds rearranged, or a spacious lounge area created below deck, ensuring the yacht exceeds all expectations.
The Fjord 490 Open model comes standard with two Volvo Penta IPS 700 engines, enabling speeds of approximately 31 knots, with an optional upgrade to Volvo Penta IPS 800 engines for up to 34 knots. For thrill-seekers, the Fjord 490 Sport model is powered by three Mercury Verado V12 600hp outboard engines, achieving speeds of over 40 knots.
