Harrison Eidsgaard reveals 127m concept with underwater lounge and squash court

The explorer yacht concept REX also features a luxurious Owner’s suite, cinema, two storey gym and accommodation for 22 guests.

Harrison Eidsgaard has unveiled its 127m (416ft) expedition yacht concept REX, complete with a 14m (46ft) pool, observation lounge offering underwater views and a helicopter hangar that converts into a squash court.

The giant concept takes its name from the Latin word for ‘King’ and has been designed for a client who “asked for something different”.

The client will certainly benefit from an Owner’s suite fit for a king, with four private terraces, two Jacuzzis and a private gym. The concept offers accommodation for 22 guests and also has ten guest suites at the center of the yacht, each with its own terrace.

Elsewhere it is adorned by a number of premium superyacht features including a dedicated helicopter hangar capable of holding an Airbus A160 that can convert into a squash court, a second helipad at the bow and an observation lounge with 360-degree views and access to a jacuzzi.

The 14m (46ft) swimming pool on the main deck can be enclosed with glass in the event of bad weather and there is also a cinema and a two-storey gym and spa.

The crowning feature inside is a 300 square meter (3,229 sq. ft) lounge that overlooks the transom and connects to the Neptune Lounge, a submerged area that offers underwater views. A tender garage has space for a 15m (16.4ft) expedition vessel and two 9m (29.5ft) tenders.

REX features a white and grey exterior and a hybrid propulsion package capable of being converted for hydrogen storage.
