Highly Customized Sunseeker 131 Yacht Elysium to be Sold by Auction

The highly bespoke Sunseeker 131 Yacht Elysium is set to go under the hammer at the end of the month in Gibraltar.

Gibraltar-based brokerage Howe Robinson Partners is managing the “as-is, where-is” Admiralty Marshal’s auction for this exceptional vessel. Hull number 10 out of 20 in the Sunseeker 131 model series, Elysium represents a rare and highly customized example of Sunseeker's craftsmanship.

Delivered in 2018, Elysium stands out as one of the most customized yachts ever produced by the British builder. Commissioned by an experienced and repeat client, the yacht takes full advantage of Sunseeker’s Bespoke service, available exclusively for models over 100 feet (30.5 meters). This program allows owners to significantly tailor the yacht’s layout and design to suit their preferences.

Unique Features and Customizations

Among the most striking customizations is the relocation of the master suite. Traditionally situated on the main deck, the master suite on Elysium was moved to the aft of the upper deck, replacing the skylounge. This design choice provides breathtaking views through full-height windows and sliding glass doors, creating a brighter, more open atmosphere. The original master suite location on the main deck was reimagined as an oversized VIP stateroom.

Further alterations include the addition of a private gym near the master suite and a redesign of internal stairways to accommodate the new layout. Exterior modifications are equally impressive. The sundeck’s hot tub, typically positioned forward, was moved to the aft, while a full second helm station was installed at the forward end of the sundeck under an extended hardtop for added shade. Additionally, the primary tender is stowed on the swim platform rather than in a garage, freeing up space for an additional hot tub in the bow.

Despite these extensive changes, future owners who prefer a more conventional Sunseeker 131 layout will find it relatively easy to revert the yacht’s structure. For instance, the shipyard pre-installed hardware beneath the deck to support a bow davit for a RIB tender.

Elegant Design and Interior

Elysium features a neutral interior palette, with pale oak paneling throughout and subtle stone accents. Notable design elements include a stone sole at the entry to the saloon from the aft deck and complementary stone countertops, adding understated elegance to the yacht’s decor.

Auction Details

The 345-gross-ton Elysium is available for inspection by prospective buyers ahead of the auction, which will close on January 28. Interested parties can arrange onboard visits through Howe Robinson Partners. While the reserve price remains undisclosed, Elysium was listed for sale in 2019 at €13.95 million.

The auction is part of efforts to recover funds for a Saudi princess who, according to court records, invested money with the yacht’s owner, Ron Gibbs. Despite her attempts to retrieve her investment, she did not receive repayment. As a result, Elysium and other assets belonging to Gibbs have been frozen and placed into receivership to secure the owed funds.

This sale represents a rare opportunity to acquire a highly customized Sunseeker 131 with exceptional features and an intriguing backstory.
