As with many yacht shows, the 2021 Monaco Yacht Show is having to do things differently, pulling out all the stops to make the event a fun, engaging but also reassuringly safe experience for visitors.
Returning once again to the picturesque Port Hercule, the established Monaco event has long been one of the main highlights of the annual yachting calendar.
However, with a growing market spurred on by the increased attraction of remote vacations, organizers of the show, Informa, have pulled all out all the stops to create a show that primarily aims towards those visitors who intend to leave the show as yacht Owners.
Many attractions will be returning to Port Hercule for the latest edition but there's a lot to be excited about as the show engages a complete new look.
Monaco Yacht Show Badge System
By far the most substantial difference to the overall experience of the Monaco-based show, the inaugural appearance of a badge system is designed to create a smoother flow throughout the event, allowing seamless access to areas most relevant to the badge assigned to each visitor.
Based on a three-tier system, the badges to be assigned during the event have been put in place with an aim to ensure 'the right people' have access to the areas of the show they will benefit from the most.
The three tiers of badges making an appearance at the show are;
- Discover - a badge for yacht clients particularly looking to buy a yacht at the show.
- Advise - for visitors to the show under a consultant or advisory capacity.
- Connect - for all trade visitors.
In addition to the allocation of badges, the first day of the Monaco Yacht Show will be exclusive to Discover badge holders, with all other visitors able to join the show throughout the remaining duration.
New attractions
Already anticipating the return of many popular attractions like the fast and furious Car Deck and the highly indulgent VIP Sapphire Experience, Monaco presents an all-new attraction for this year's offering.
Known as the Yacht Design and Innovations Hub, the new addition will be available to view throughout the duration of the event and will give visitors a valuable opportunity to mix with a host of industry professionals.
Displaying scale models of iconic superyacht concepts and relatable media, the new hub will have its own program of presentations in association with many well-known yacht designers and brands.
The addition of the exhibition is said to be a perfect accompaniment to the Designer Gallery, where yacht designers can create the initial lines of your brand new yacht in front of your eyes.
Show safety
As the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic continues to hold influence over the execution of boat shows, there are multiple measures in place during the 2021 Monaco Yacht Show to ensure the safety of all visitors, crew and exhibitors in attendance.
Anyone over the age of 11 looking to gain entry into the show must have all the necessary supporting documents with them, depending on their zone of origin. This also includes a valid and up-to-date health certificate. Online registration is also a necessity to minimize contact at the show itself, this will also be an occasion where badges will be allocated.
During the four-day event itself, hygiene measures are being integrated throughout the docks with sanitization stations and increased cleaning slots to promote the best measures. Social distancing measures will also be in place to manage a smooth flow around the exhibits, in compliance with the local regulations.
Catering will also have its own adaptations, allowing for minimal contact and enhanced hygiene throughout.
Monaco has long since established itself as an iconic show for premium superyachts for sale so if you're on the market to buy this show is a must for your list of 2021 appointments.
