The eighth unit of Sanlorenzo’s popular 500Exp line has hit the water at its La Spezia shipyard in Italy.
With the yard also announcing the sale of the ninth unit at the end of the last year, the 500Exp model is proving equally as sought after as its predecessor, the 460Exp.
The long-distance capabilities of the 47m (154ft) model were demonstrated earlier this year when the inaugural hull, ‘Ocean Dreamwalker III’ was caught on camera utilizing her spacious aft deck helipad and variety of tenders and toys in the wilds of Alaska.
The 500Exp features design from Francesco Pazskowski and is an evolution of the 460Exp, with an elongated aft deck, extra toy storage and more rugged exterior styling.
The sub 500GT yacht combines explorer capabilities with superyacht luxury. Tenders or sailing boats of up to 9m (29.5ft) can be accommodated in the stern, with the Owner also having the option of a submarine or seaplane on board. As demonstrated by ‘Ocean Dreamwalker III’, there is also the possibility of adding a touch-and-go landing platform for a helicopter.
On the lower deck there is a beach club with an opening hatch for connection with the sea, whilst she also sports a heated swimming pool and skylounge with a long dining table and expansive views.
The 500Exp has a cruising range of 4,000nm, and a long range and the ability to remain self-sufficient for 30 days or longer, are just two of the common characteristics of an explorer yacht. To find out more about these highly specialised vessels you can view all explorer yachts for sale.
