The 65 was built in Britain by Princess making full use of their in-house design team's expertise. The 20.97m/68'10" flybridge boat built from GRP can sleep up to seven guests in four cabins. She was available with a range of inboard engine options.

Production of the first generation Princess 65 started in 1990 and ran for over 3 years. The second and final generation Princess 65 went into production in 1998.
