On Deck

Nick begins aft, detailing the hi-lo platform designed for dinghy storage, and works his way forwards, noting the clever packaging of the vessel including outside docking controls and a stereo system. He also speaks highly of the outside areas of the boat, including various seating and sunbathing spots, a forward seating area, and an anchor system.

The flybridge features freestanding furniture, a bar, and helm position with excellent views.

Nick admires the boat's galley, which he describes as unique and fitted with a range of features, including a drop window for natural light and fresh air. He points out the design ensures pots remain safe while the boat is in motion. Nick also highlights the ample storage in the galley, including under-counter storage and a pair of fridges, one of which is a freezer.

The interior design of the Absolute 56 FLY features contrast between dark gloss and light matte finishes. The saloon area includes a convertible coffee table and a hidden TV behind a seat. He finds the side door, a unique feature for a 56-foot boat, a practical addition especially for owners who operate the boat without a crew.

Nick then moves to the helm area where he points out the well-equipped instrumentation, including multi-function displays, a ship monitoring system, throttle controls, and an IPS joystick ideal for maneuvering in close quarters. 

The lower deck of the yacht does not disappoint either. There is a half deck that leads to the lower deck proper, and an owner's cabin, which boasts a dressing area, massive windows, a double bed, and an ensuite bathroom with pocket doors and a decently sized shower. There is a second spacious cabin, with an ensuite bathroom, which could be another owner's cabin, a third cabin, and a day head.

Back on the main deck, Nick highlights the control panel for the boat's AC and DC systems and a wine cooler tucked away underneath the helm sink.

The occasional crew quarters are accessed via the bathing platform and features two beds, storage and wet room day heads.  

The engine room houses twin Volvo Penta D8 IPS-800 engines. These give the boat about 27 knots flat out.  The range is 300-330 nm at cruising speeds.

In his summary, Nick praises the Absolute 56 FLY as a well-designed, luxurious yacht with smart features. He acknowledges its excellent performance and range, deeming it suitable for long-distance cruising.
