The brand new Galeon 435 GTO had its world premiere at the Miami International Boat Show 2024. As the largest GTO they've made to date, it has significant upgrades over the smaller GTOs. This boat offers a variety of engine configurations, including the option for three or four Mercury outboards.
The model we toured at the show had the triple engine option of 600 V12s, pushing it to a top speed of 49 knots. While it's designed for luxurious living and sun-soaked lounging at the weekend, it certainly will shift. Ready to find out what it has to offer? Read on.

The Galeon 435 GTO takes the exterior lines of the 375 GTO, which was designed by Tony Castro Studio in 2022, and stretches them just a bit for a more substantial presence. The 435 has a really wide full beam, especially apparent from the foredeck, and its decks have been cleverly designed to be all flat, with no steps to trip over, so it's very easy to move around. For added stability at rest, the 435 GTO can be fitted with a SeaKeeper stabiliser, providing a nice and stable platform.
This flagship model has the ability to fully enclose the aft deck area, which the other boats in the range can't do. Now you can comfortably enjoy the space if you’re at anchor or on the move or on raining days. One thing to keep in mind, though, is the dark upholstery on the 435 which does tend to get very hot in the sun - something I’ve seen before on GTOs.
A particular design highlight is the separate sunroof that slots down next to the helm, providing natural ventilation and a burst of fresh air. There’s also a big handrail that helps you get past the windscreen to the foredeck, and an angled door that closes flush with the windscreen, giving the boat a sleek, integrated look when fully enclosed.
Below deck, you’ll find there’s much more than meets the eye. Initially, you might think it’s all about day-boating, but the living space is very nicely done. There’s lots of natural light thanks to a forward-reaching hatch and a lovely big window, giving good views out, that matches the hull side window.
The mini galley is compact yet practical, featuring a sink and an additional fridge under the countertop. Storage is cleverly packed in wherever possible - dotted all over the place, very usable despite the galley's size. Lovely glass-fronted storage for glasses and crockery look very smart, which makes the space feel much more substantial and luxurious.
What sets the 435 apart from others in the GTO range is its ability to fully enclose the aft deck area. When the doors are open, it feels wonderfully expansive, but you also have the option to air-condition or heat the space thanks to the new doors.
The opening and closing mechanisms are brilliant. Massive side windows slide up and down at the push of a button, and the glass sunroof overhead, coupled with a smaller sunroof and walkthrough door, makes this area feel very open.
The living space here is also very impressive because, on the port side, there’s a fantastic wet bar. This area is clearly designed with the American market in mind, as it has excellent on-deck facilities. There’s a chopping board/sink cover, a double grill, and plenty of cooling space underneath. It’s a substantial piece of deck furniture, complete with cup holders on either side. Galeon’s love for bar stools is on show here - right up next to the window, you can line up margaritas and enjoy the breeze and views, a great spot.
There’s more seating on the opposite side with a big U-shaped dinette. Galeon’s clever design comes into play with an aft bench that flips around, almost joining the exterior bench but leaving a gap for deck access. Another nifty feature is the two-way bench, that can be adjusted to face forward, allowing three or four people to see ahead while the boat is moving along.
Guest Accommodation
Right forward, you'll find what can only be considered the Owner's Cabin. Natural light is excellent here, with windows well-placed at eye level and the headroom is very good - this all helps to provide a sense of openness. There are numerous cubby holes dotted all over the place but no dedicated hanging space - time to fold your clothes.
The second cabin is amidships, though it doesn’t have the same headroom due to its location under the cockpit. This cabin would be more suited as a kids' cabin or an emergency cabin for adults for one night. You’ve got a large single berth on one side and a single berth on the other. A TV is neatly integrated, making this an ideal spot for children to chill out and watch a film, while the grown-ups are upstairs. There are reading lights, sockets, and light repeaters by the head of the bed so it's all well-considered, this cabin is not an afterthought.
The Galeon 435 GTO's helm station has triple MFDs that give all the information you could ask for. The 435 doesn't rely on touchscreens alone - there are lots of tactile buttons for quick, easy access. So you don't have to swipe through menus to make essential adjustments.
The ergonomics are spot on, with three helm seats that are all bolstered so you can sit or stand - whatever you prefer. The sightlines from the helm are very good all-round. The high-positioned throttles and well-placed joystick make handling those triple outboards incredibly intuitive.
The Galeon 435 GTO features two inviting outdoor spaces, forward and aft. Aft, the bathing platform is dominated by the Mercury outboards. Opt for either four 400 outboards or three neatly packaged 600s. A handy walkway between the two bathing platforms and around the engines makes for easy movement.
Moving up, you'll find drop-down balconies on both sides, now infused with glass and featuring a side door, which boosts their functionality significantly. Cleverly, the table in the cockpit can move backwards or be removed entirely, and the U-shaped seating unit slides forward, the backrest can be dropped to create a sun-pad. For shade, an electric awning extends from the combing, and rod holders can be mounted on the roof - good for a spot of fishing.
Moving to the foredeck, there's even more deck space to enjoy, offering another fabulous living area. The seating here is nice, with plenty of cupholders in the seating arms. This spot is perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun. If dining al fresco is your thing, you can pop a table into the pre-fitted slots, making it a great place for meals or snacks.
Our Verdict
The Galeon 435 GTO is a really impressive package, especially considering its size. It's one of the most functional day boats on the market as it offers a good balance of performance, design, and usability. The clever integration of features and the flexible layout make it a solid choice in its class. The 435 GTO’s exterior is handsomely styled, and the interior shouldn't disappoint either, with plenty of light and ventilation in a cleverly utilised space that feels anything but cramped. The aft deck’s ability to be fully enclosed is a major advantage. It remains to be seen how she handles at sea, however, and hopefully, we'll get to trial it soon.

Rivals to Consider
The Galeon 435 GTO distinguishes itself in the luxury sports cruiser market through its exceptional blend of performance, innovative design, and versatile features. When compared to its competitors, the 435 GTO offers several advantages that cater to discerning boating enthusiasts.
Equipped with powerful engines, the Galeon 435 GTO achieves a top speed of 45.8 knots, positioning it ahead of many rivals in its class. For instance, the Fjord 44 Coupé reaches a top speed of 36 knots, while the Wally wallytender43 attains 40 knots. This superior speed allows for swift and exhilarating voyages, appealing to those who prioritize performance.
The 435 GTO features Galeon's signature design elements, including full-length hull windows and partially glazed balconies, providing panoramic views and an open, airy feel. The glass-enclosed, climate-controlled wheelhouse ensures comfort across various weather conditions, enhancing the overall cruising experience.
Additionally, the yacht boasts a private open bow and expansive aft deck space, creating ample areas for socializing and relaxation.
