Tankoa Yachts History & Heritage
Founded in 2007, Tankoa Yachts emerged under the leadership of industrialist Guido Orsi, along with seasoned industry professionals Michel Karsenti and Renzo Chelazzi, both former members of Baglietto’s management team.
Despite facing a challenging global financial climate, Tankoa initiated production in 2008. However, the economic downturn prompted a temporary halt to its initial projects. By 2013, with economic conditions improving, Tankoa revived its projects, culminating in the debut of the 69.3m (227ft) yacht SUERTE at the 2015 Monaco Yacht Show.
SUERTE garnered industry acclaim, earning nominations for a World Superyacht Award and a ShowBoats Design Award. A client's enthusiastic charter experience led to the yacht's purchase after a four-month charter in 2016.
Following this success, Tankoa delivered the equally popular 50m (163ft) VERTIGE, sparking four more orders for yachts based on the same design.
In 2018, Tankoa pushed boundaries further with the delivery of the 72m (236ft) SOLO, celebrated for its efficiency and sustainability. SOLO earned the Game Changer Award at the Boat International Design & Innovation Awards and the RINA Green Plus Platinum Award.
Demonstrating ambitions for expansion, Tankoa initiated the administrative process of acquiring the Cantieri di Pisa shipyard in January 2021.
Situated in Genoa Sestri Ponente, Tankoa Yachts strategically positions itself in the center of the Mediterranean, amidst a city with a rich shipbuilding heritage.
