So with YachtBuyer you can not only enjoy the best data and market activity on your chosen yachts but also how they compare to their closest rivals.

The Ferretti 1000 is not only the current largest yacht in this Italian builder’s all- flybridge fleet it is also a very different kind of flybridge design. Focused on maximising both deck and interior space, this is more of a superfly, creating an upper deck that runs from bow to stern and a full-beam main deck stateroom, the kind of features and space usually found on yachts several meters longer.

Other details are more typically flybridge, with four guest cabins below decks, a fast planing hull and twin shaftdrive engines delivering speeds of around 28 knots. Intended for cruising, the 1000 is crew-operated.

The Princess X95 has a similar design theory but is far from being a flybridge with its vast upper bridge deck featuring a central pilothouse and lounge. There's a main deck Owner’s suite, with options to switch this for more social space, along with four further guest cabins. The X95’s tall design creates plenty of volume inside, wrapped in vast sections of glass. Again, intended for serious cruising and crew operation, performance belies the yacht’s stature with 25knots on tap from twin shaftdrive engines.

Performance

Both of these yachts are designed to be used, whether for long, liveaboard cruises or simply time spent onboard. Performance matches this, with the ability for short blasts at fast cruising speeds that range from 20knots-24knots, or a top speed of 26knots for the Princess using twin 1900hp MAN engines and 28knots for the Ferretti with its beefier 16V 2186hp MTUs. But these yachts can also happily run at displacement speeds for longer passages. The Princess may have the edge on range, with its bigger fuel tanks.

Interior

The living accommodation on both yachts is exceptional with the space and luxury to look after more than their 10 guests. The Ferretti delivers one-level lounging and dining on the main deck, flanked by glass and featuring large doors out to the decks. The Princess offers a similar main deck salon, there are no side doors but there is the option of extending living space forward, in place of the Owner’s suite, where a private lounge or family-style living space incorporating the galley can be worked in. In all layouts, the X95 has vast, full-height glass, but it also plays its trump card with another, raised lounge on the upper deck, offering privacy, luxury and great views in equal measure.

Accommodation

The Ferretti and Princess have four en suite guest cabins below decks. The Princess has VIP suites forward and amidships, the latter easily making an Owner’s stateroom should the main deck be optioned as a lounge and two twin cabins. The Ferretti has four excellent and spacious double cabins. Its main deck Owner’s cabin offers superyacht levels of space and luxury, long glass sections offering great views out. The Princess Owner’s cabin is no less spectacular with glass on three sides.

Helm Station

The Ferretti has a purposeful pilothouse helm with guest seating, the perfect place for longer passages. Above, the full-length flybridge enjoys an outside helm, where the Owner may like to take control and enjoy the thrill of 28knots. The Princess has just the single raised pilothouse helm, a very professional feeling hem station offering commanding views. Both inner helms deliver space for the latest nav-tech and multiple display screens.

Deck Areas

Deck space is arguably the main feature on both yachts. The upper decks are the real star in terms of space and luxury. Running almost the entire length of each yacht, buyers will have plenty of choice on the exact layout, with dining and lounging options as well as spa pools. The Ferretti goes on to create a very impressive main deck aft, sweeping back with its lounge seating and leading down to a fun transom with yet more seating looking out over the water. Hidden away is a tender garage for a RIB and PWC.

Flybridge

The upper decks on both yachts are excellent and quite different. Both run almost the entire length of each yacht with very similar aft lounge areas. But where the Ferretti opts for a traditional flybridge with open expanses designed for lounging and dining, a central hardtop protecting the helm, dining, galley and bar, the Princess is more of an upper deck with its central pilothouse and lounge.

Beach Club

A true beach club should be a waterside lounge and terrace. Usually at the stern, a beach club might open on one, two or three sides of the yacht. It should be practical, able to withstand plenty of use, watersports and saltwater, but also luxurious, creating a spectacular retreat day or night.

Compare Layouts

For such similar yachts, the way these two go about the business of creating near-unbeatable levels of space is subtly different. The Ferretti is more conventional and true to its flybridge routes. The Princess has been more vertical in its thinking, with its raised pilothouse towering over the upper deck. The option of creating a vast sweep of social space on the main deck will be of interest to those less interested in cabin numbers.
