The 49.9m motor yacht Barents was delivered to her owners in 1999 by Italian shipyard Benetti. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Stefano Natucci, while Benetti is responsible for her naval architecture.

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8.9m beam and a 2.6m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 496 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the fourth yacht built on the Golden Bay Series design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of Barents features a raked bow that enhances navigational efficiency. The deck is crafted from teak, known for its durability and classic appearance. The hull and superstructure are painted white, providing a clean and timeless look. The boot top and below-the-waterline areas are painted black, creating a striking contrast with the white hull. The hull finish is done using Awlgrip, ensuring a high-quality and long-lasting surface.

The Sky Lounge Deck is popular for al fresco dining and conversation. Aft of the main salon, there is an open deck with a sitting and dining area, conveniently located near both the main salon and steps leading down to the swim platform.

The Sun Deck is configured for multiple activities. Adjacent to the Jacuzzi, there is a sun lounge area. An open-air fitness area provides a pleasant spot for working out. In the evening, a large TV screen and comfortable seating create an outdoor cinema experience. A wet bar serves refreshments at any time.

Interior Design

The main salon is designed for relaxation and formal dining. It includes an elegant seating area with a large couch, chairs, and a formal dining space. The sky lounge provides a more casual setting, featuring an onyx bar with freestanding stools, a large-screen television, and versatile furniture arrangements. A game table is also available for cards, backgammon, or laptop use. Materials used in the interior include honey oak burl paneling and warm-toned marble and onyx, enhancing the yacht's aesthetic appeal. 

Accommodation

Barents can host up to twelve guests across its well-appointed cabins. The master suite is situated on the main deck. This suite includes a private owner's office complete with a full-sized couch, chairs, and a work desk, enhanced by a large window offering natural light. The ensuite bathroom is finished in marble and onyx, featuring twin sinks, a bidet, rainhead shower, and a Jacuzzi tub.

For additional guest accommodation, a VIP queen stateroom is located on the sky lounge deck, providing an extra layer of privacy. The lower deck houses two queen suites and two twin cabins. Each queen suite is equipped with a queen bed, settee, dressing table, full-height wardrobe, and an ensuite bathroom with a tub. The twin cabins each include a drop-down Pullman berth, dressing table, hanging wardrobe, and an ensuite bathroom with a shower.

Each stateroom is designed with honey oak burl paneling and bathrooms finished in warm-toned marble and honey onyx. Individual climate control and an entertainment system are standard in all guest rooms. The strategic use of mirrors throughout the yacht enhances the sense of spaciousness.

She is also capable of carrying up to 11 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V396TE94) 2,226hp engines, motor yacht Barents is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots. With her 75,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,500 nautical miles at 13 knots.

Amenities

A gym with all the latest equipment allows her guests to keep their workout routines while at sea. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort, while underwater lights create a dazzling light display when the sun goes down. Crowning the yacht is a spacious sundeck and deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
