Delivered in 2024, Drizzle is a 91.8m motor yacht built by Dutch shipyard Feadship. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Sinot Yacht Design, while De Voogt is responsible for her naval architecture.

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 14.6m beam and a 3.9m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 2,965 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in mid 2021. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in April 2024 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in July 2024.

Exterior Design

Its striking appearance includes a dark hull contrasting with a white superstructure, showcasing the classic Feadship-flared bow. The foredeck is uncluttered, leading to crisp chamfered lines to reach an elongated main deck aft. The stern descends sharply to a spacious bathing platform. Rounded white deck levels are complemented by dark glazing, with a vertical radar mast and communication tower adding balance atop a shaded sun deck canopy.

Despite its considerable size, the design team has successfully integrated cozy and intimate spaces within the exterior areas, ensuring that the yacht maintains a welcoming atmosphere for family use.

The stern's beach club is a notable feature, spanning a significant portion of the lower deck and complemented by a substantial, fixed platform. This area, combined with two fold-down platforms, offers an impressive 165 square meters of water-level relaxation space, ideal for lounging and water activities.

Ascend the sweeping staircases on either side of the stern platform, and you are greeted by the main deck aft. Here, a sizeable pool and an outdoor lounge area provide a comfortable setting for leisure, sheltered from the elements by the deckhead overhang.

The sundeck above serves as an observational spot with a sofa facing forward and sun loungers for basking under the sky. The aft deck is pragmatically utilized for the storage of two rescue tenders, ensuring safety measures are as robust as recreational amenities.

The yacht includes a side-loading garage accommodating two 10-meter tenders, a ski boat, and assorted water toys.

Interior Design

The interiors have been designed to provide an understated family home. On the upper decks, the family lounge, wellness area, and master stateroom are strategically placed to offer privacy and tranquility. 

On the main deck forward are the guest rooms and crew cabins, all finished to a high standard.

Accommodation

Drizzle offers accommodation for up to 14 guests in 7 suites. She is also capable of carrying up to 18 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Performance & Capabilities

Drizzle is fully classified under Hybrid Electric Class notation. This classification underscores the yacht's sophisticated energy management system and hybrid propulsion technology, which integrates both traditional and electric power sources.

The yacht is powered by two robust MTU 16V4000M65L diesel engines, each delivering a formidable 2560 kW at 1800 RPM. These engines are the heart of the propulsion system, driving the yacht to a maximum speed of 17.5 knots. At a more conservative cruising speed of 12 knots, Drizzle demonstrates efficiency and endurance with a substantial range of 5,500 nautical miles, allowing for extensive voyages without the need for frequent refueling.

Complementing the main engines are three Caterpillar C18 generators, each producing 465 ekW. These generators are essential not only for providing electrical power to the yacht's systems but also for supporting the hybrid functionality.

The electric aspect of the yacht's hybrid system consists of two electric motors with Power Take-Off/Power Take-In (PTO/PTI) functions, each rated at 560 kW. These motors can either generate electrical power by harnessing the rotation of the shafts while the main engines are running or operate as propulsion units themselves, drawing energy from the yacht's battery bank.

Speaking of the battery bank, Drizzle houses a substantial 1029 kWh lithium-ion battery capacity. This energy reserve can be utilized for silent and emission-free operation at low speeds, reducing the yacht's environmental footprint and enhancing the onboard experience.
