Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 10.8m beam and a 3.18m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 1,200 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 2021. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in June 2024 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in August 2024.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of yacht B is a product of Studio De Voogt. Its plumb bow and balanced exterior lines contribute to its modern appearance. The hull is constructed from steel, ensuring durability and strength, while the superstructure is made from aluminum to reduce weight. The deck is finished with FSC-certified plantation teak, which is harvested sustainably. The yacht's sleek profile is designed to optimize cruising speed rather than focusing on top speed.
In terms of color scheme, the hull is blue-grey, the superstructure is white, and the boot top is also white. The antifoul color is black, providing a subtle yet effective contrast. The yacht has been designed with environmental sustainability in mind, aligning with Feadship’s goal of being climate-neutral by 2030.
Accommodation
B offers accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 suites.
Performance & Capabilities
The yacht B is powered by twin azimuthing contra-rotating VETH VL900i units, each offering a power output of 1,000 kW. This setup ensures reliable and efficient propulsion, suitable for a variety of sea conditions. She also has the ability to run on HVO (hydrogenated vegetable oil), a non-fossil fuel.
B is equipped with solar panels that are designed for optimal performance and durability. These panels, custom-made in the Netherlands using high-efficiency silicon cells, significantly enhance the yacht's energy efficiency. They produce up to 24 MWh annually, contributing to the yacht's overall sustainability.
For electrical power, B is equipped with PON Power systems, featuring two Caterpillar propulsion engines, model C32, each with a power rating of 969 bkW. Additionally, two Caterpillar marine diesel engines, model C9.3, provide an extra 270 bkW each. This combination of power sources ensures that the yacht can meet both propulsion and hotel load requirements.
With a maximum speed of 15 knots, B is optimized for a comfortable economical cruising experience rather than high-speed travel. The efficient hull form and power system design enable a substantial range of 5,000 nautical miles, making long voyages manageable without frequent refueling stops.
Stability and comfort are further enhanced by the inclusion of Quantum QC1800HD stabilizers. These stabilizers are designed to minimize roll and provide a smoother sailing experience, which is crucial for both safety and passenger comfort.
