The award winning 180'7" motor yacht Kahalani was delivered to her owners in 2010 by Dutch shipyard Feadship. Her naval architecture and exterior design comes from the drawing boards of De Voogt, while Remi Tessier is responsible for her interior design.
Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 33'10" beam and a 11'5" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 891 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 2007. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. She was delivered to her owners in April 2010.
Exterior Design
Kahalani is a unique and completely customized 55m De Vries Feadship, featuring a Feadship in-house De Voogt exterior design.
At the classic Feadship-shaped bow, the initial section serves as an operational area for anchoring and mooring equipment, including a prominent light mast. Access to a small guest area is provided via a central teak pathway between coamings, leading to banquette seating.
At the closed stern, the transom door lowers to create a beach club and extensive bathing platform, with an internal stairway located on the port side.
The sun deck serves as the ultimate guest retreat, offering ample relaxation options, from a semicircular seating area with teak surround and table forward of an oval-shaped teak surround jacuzzi area to large settees and a bar area under the welcome shade of the radar mast canopy. Aft of the shade, banquette seating follows the line of the deck, with a staircase on the starboard side providing access to the deck below.
The side profile of Kahalani features a lower deck hull with ample portholes to ensure natural light flow and reflection in the interior spaces. Glazing is prominent within the main deck, while the side decks are partly open to ensure unobstructed views from the main salon. The forward dynamic of the superstructure joining the deck levels creates an imposing profile.
Interior Design
The interiors of Kahalani are characterized by sleek and modern design, employing a darker yet neutral palette. The amidships main deck salon exudes a masculine feel, with two squared-off sofas in dark ribbed fabric adorned with pewter and metal cushions. Vibrant pops of color from fittings such as vivid purple Herve van der Straeten Tornade table lamps and Jean-Michel Basquiat artwork add character.
Featuring dark wood floors, the upper deck level salon boasts a monochrome flair, with a black lacquered bar, white leather sofas, and soft grey contemporary Chesterfield seating in Italian leather. Subtle use of metal and reflective surfaces enhances the ambiance, while a lined pattern within the flooring delineates dining areas from seating areas. Large artworks like Warhol's Marilyn and Gerhard Richter's Candle I provide vibrant splashes of color. A circular dining area is situated on the upper deck aft, offering fully opening windows and rear-facing views.
In the cabins, the neutral palette continues the cohesive approach, with light and airy contemporary interior design evoking a sense of calm simplicity. Features include metal and wood accents against cream textured walls.

Kahalani offers accommodation for up to 11 guests in 6 suites comprising an owners cabin, 2 double cabins, 2 twin cabins and 1 single cabin. She is also capable of carrying up to 13 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
