Design & Construction
Designed around a fast displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9.6m beam and a 3.2m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 740 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the second yacht built on the 55m Steel design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in July 2017 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in August 2017.
Exterior Design
Laurentia features a raked bow, providing improved wave handling and performance. The deck is constructed from durable teak, offering a classic and practical finish. The hull and superstructure are both painted white, presenting a clean and consistent appearance. The area below the waterline is colored black, as is the boot top, creating a sharp contrast with the white hull.
The superstructure is designed to be practical yet visually striking. The layout includes large vertical window panels in the bow section, providing ample natural light.
The aft deck includes a cutting-edge outdoor cinema, utilizing 360-degree projection technology. This allows viewers to watch movies from both inside and outside the yacht. On the top deck, guests can relax in the jacuzzi or on the sun pads while enjoying uninterrupted views. The design focuses on functionality and comfort, providing a range of options for leisure and relaxation. The aft area features a beach club at the water's edge.
Interior Design
The interior design of Laurentia emphasizes a clean and refined aesthetic, with a focus on creating a relaxing and elegant atmosphere. The design work was carried out by Radyca, a Miami-based studio led by designer Ramon Alonso. The décor employs neutral colors and a variety of fine materials, including whitened oak and wengé in diverse hues. Gray and mole gray skins are used throughout, along with woollen carpeting and light suede textures. Marble elements, such as White Arabesque and Grecale, add a touch of sophistication.
The main deck features a large saloon that transitions into an elegantly decorated dining area with seating for twelve. The space is designed to be functional yet visually appealing, with the use of high-quality fabrics and understated design elements. A picturesque staircase provides access to both the lower deck's night quarters and the upper helm controls station.
The sky lounge, located beyond the helm controls station, offers a panoramic view and is furnished with comfortable seating, a coffee table, and a bar cabinet. This area leads outside to a terrace equipped with a convenient sun awning.
Entertainment systems are integrated throughout the interior spaces, with repeaters installed in the external lounges to ensure seamless connectivity. The design choices and layout promote a sense of relaxation and ease, making Laurentia a well-appointed vessel for both leisure and social activities.
Accommodation
Laurentia offers well-appointed accommodations designed to host up to 12 guests. The yacht features five cabins, each with a dedicated bathroom, ensuring privacy and comfort for each guest.
The owner's suite is located forward on the main deck and spans the full beam of the yacht. It is illuminated by large vertical windows that offer expansive views and ample natural light. The suite includes a study corner, a walk-in wardrobe, a small relaxing lounge, and a large bathroom equipped with a separate bathtub and shower unit.
In addition to the owner’s suite, Laurentia has two VIP cabins and two twin cabins, all thoughtfully designed with en-suite facilities to provide a comfortable stay for guests.
Crew accommodations are well-considered, with quarters for up to 12 crew members in six cabins. The captain’s cabin is located adjacent to the helm station, bringing the total number of crew members that can be accommodated to 14. This ensures that the yacht's operations run smoothly and efficiently.
