Delivered in 1969, Monara is a 84'8" classic yacht for sale built by Dutch shipyard Feadship. Her naval architecture and exterior design comes from the drawing boards of De Voogt.

Key Features

  • Sundeck with flexible covering and U-shaped seating
  • Original Gardner engines
  • Hydraulic side swim platform
  • Classic canoe stern

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement w/ bulbous bow steel hull and superstructure she features a 19'3" beam and a 7' draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 81 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

Monara's exterior design reflects a classic Feadship profile with a canoe stern.

The sundeck is a central feature of Monara, designed for versatility and guest enjoyment. Aft, a U-shaped seating arrangement surrounds a convertible dining table that can be lowered to form a spacious sun pad. Amidships, additional L-shaped seating provides a comfortable lounge area. Forward on the sundeck, guests will find another sun pad area atop the bridge, complete with a sink and a retractable gas barbecue, facilitating outdoor entertainment and relaxation.

Access to the water is facilitated by a hydraulic swim platform on the side, along with a stern passerelle for ease of boarding. The main deck aft can be enclosed to create a sheltered outdoor dining space, even in windy conditions. The design of Monara also includes a bench that wraps around the stern for additional seating and a dining area on the lower deck for more intimate gatherings.

On the foredeck, crew accommodations and storage for the tenders are deliberately located away from guest areas to maintain privacy and a clutter-free environment.

Monara's design reflects a respect for the yacht's storied past and an understanding of the needs of contemporary guests.

Interior Design

Upon entering the main salon, guests are greeted with a harmonious blend of rich, varnished wood paneling and lighter tones that create a balanced and inviting atmosphere. The flooring is laid with premium teak, chosen for its durability and timeless appearance. Soft furnishings are upholstered in high-quality fabrics that offer both tactile comfort and visual warmth, complementing the wooden elements. A glass floor panel allows guests to view the well-lit classic engines.

The dining area on Monara is designed for functionality and sociability. The dining table is a focal point, crafted from fine wood and surrounded by comfortably appointed chairs. It is positioned to optimize interaction among guests, fostering a convivial dining experience. The space is free of superfluous decoration, emphasizing clean lines and an uncluttered layout that facilitates service and conversation.

Adjacent to the dining space, the galley is equipped with professional-grade appliances and ample preparation areas, allowing for efficient meal preparation and service.

The bridge retains classic elements such as the original steering wheel and compasses, while contemporary navigation and control systems are concealed, deployable only when required. This design approach ensures that the helm remains unobtrusive and faithful to the yacht's vintage charm.

Accommodation

The Monara provides a comfortable arrangement for up to eight guests, housed in four well-appointed suites. The owner's suite, a full-beam cabin, is a highlight of the onboard experience. Following the comprehensive rebuild, the owner's suite now benefits from increased natural light through enlarged hull windows and features a full walk-in wardrobe. The en suite facilities include a wet room equipped with a walk-in shower, toilet, and sinks with views directly to the water, ensuring a bright, modern, and inviting atmosphere.

Adjacent to the owner's suite is the VIP cabin, which offers a double bed and private en suite bathroom, ensuring privacy and comfort for guests. In addition to the VIP quarters, there are two twin cabins which provide versatile sleeping arrangements. These cabins can be altered to double beds if desired and share a Jack and Jill bathroom located midship. This thoughtful layout maintains the yacht's intimate feel while maximizing the use of space.

Monara's accommodation extends to her crew, with quarters designed to house up to four crew members. This ensures that the highest level of service is available to guests, enhancing the luxury experience without intrusion on privacy.

Performance & Capabilities

Monara's performance lies in her original Gardner engines, remarkable for their quiet operation and efficiency. These twin diesel Gardner 8L3B engines, each producing 230 horsepower, are not only a piece of history but also exemplify robust engineering. Their design allows for minimal vibration and this unique feature enhances the level of tranquility aboard Monara.

The engines' efficiency is evident in their fuel consumption, which stands at 30 liters per hour at cruising speed. This economical usage translates to an impressive range, giving Monara the ability to traverse up to 1,890 nautical miles at 8 knots on a single fueling, courtesy of her substantial 7,500-liter fuel capacity.

Monara comes equipped with an advanced electrical system that includes a battery bank capable of providing 12 hours of silent operation. This system allows for the enjoyment of the yacht's surroundings without the background hum of generators, enhancing the peacefulness of the marine environment. The addition of a second generator, beyond the one originally fitted by Feadship, ensures there is ample power for all on-board systems and battery recharging needs.

Amenities

Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort.
