Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement composite hull and superstructure she features a 29'4" beam and a 7'10" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 499 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in July 2015 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in January 2016.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of Rüya, crafted by the renowned Sam Sorgiovanni, delivers style and proportion while maintaining open and usable areas across the yacht. Despite measuring under 42 meters, Rüya boasts an expansive 93 square meter sundeck. This deck is equipped with a 10-person Jacuzzi, a full bar, and a large dining area, features typically found on vessels exceeding 50 meters in length. The bridge deck aft provides an ideal setting for formal dining experiences at sunset, with high-quality furnishings and fittings. A relaxed ambiance is found on the foredeck, offering panoramic views and a serene spot for guests to enjoy cocktails served by Rüya's dedicated crew.

Rüya showcases a high freeboard and a wide beam, nearly nine meters, allowing for spacious interior and exterior layouts. The construction from GRP enables the realization of Sorgiovanni's vision of curved shapes, executed by the skilled craftsmen at Alia Yacht. The yacht includes a notable beach deck, enhancing the guest experience with a space for relaxation or aquatic adventures. A significant feature of this deck is the large hydraulically operated submergible staircase, which also serves as the quay-side passerelle when the yacht is moored stern-to.

Rüya combines Sam Sorgiovanni's exquisite exterior design with spacious layouts and a 93 square meter sundeck that rivals larger yachts, complemented by a beach deck with a unique hydraulic staircase for aquatic activities.

Interior Design

The saloon, with its floor-to-ceiling glass windows, brings in abundant natural light, enhancing the interior's chosen materials and finishes. The design team selected bamboo tiles for the ceiling, adding warmth and texture, while plain ebony strips with inset pale rugs cover the floors. This choice of materials creates a contrast that is both visually appealing and practical for everyday use.

In the dining area, the furniture, except for the Italian-designed dining chairs, was built in-house, ensuring a consistent aesthetic throughout the yacht. The use of rainforest marble for countertops and a significant coffee table, complemented by a thick band of woven leather, adds a touch of sophistication without overwhelming the space. The forward bulkhead of the saloon features two sliding doors with mirror edging, enhancing the sense of space and seamlessly connecting to the main deck pantry and the main lobby.

The ceiling is adorned with hand-made bamboo louvres, cleverly concealing speakers and air-conditioning ducts. The lighting fixtures are carefully selected to complement the natural textures of the materials used, such as the satin-varnished Tasmanian oak on the floors and ceilings.

The helm, equipped with Simrad Professional Series ship equipment, is designed to be the command center of the yacht. The bridge's layout and vertical windows ensure that it remains a functional space, emphasizing the yacht's capability for global exploration. The choice of navigation equipment and the arrangement of the VDUs reflect a practical approach to the design, focusing on ease of use and accessibility.

The galley, adjacent to the main deck pantry, is outfitted to support the culinary needs of guests and crew alike. The design of the galley emphasizes efficiency and functionality, with equipment and surfaces chosen for durability and ease of maintenance. The connection between the galley and the dining areas is thoughtfully considered, allowing for seamless service whether for casual meals or formal dining experiences.

Accommodation

Rüya is designed to host up to 10 guests across five well-appointed cabins, ensuring a comfortable and private experience for each occupant. The yacht features an exclusive owner's suite and four additional guest cabins, arranged to cater to the needs of those on board.

The owner's suite is positioned forward on the main deck, offering a sanctuary of privacy and tranquility. This space is distinguished by a lobby/study area that precedes the bedroom, where natural light is abundant thanks to the signature vertical hull windows. The suite boasts a comprehensive walk-through bathroom located forward, equipped with a freestanding carved stone bath, dual basins carved from a solid block of rainforest marble, and a large rainfall shower. The bathroom ensures a luxurious and comfortable experience, detailed with a heated floor and satin-finished marble bulkheads.

Below on the lower deck, the yacht accommodates its guests in four sizable cabins: two furnished with double beds and two outfitted with twin beds that can be joined to form doubles, providing flexibility based on the guests' requirements. Each twin room is equipped with a fold-out third berth, ingeniously designed to descend from the ceiling, offering additional sleeping space without compromising the room's aesthetics or comfort. These guest cabins are designed with the same attention to detail and luxury as the rest of the yacht, ensuring a pleasant stay for all guests.

Rüya also prioritizes the comfort and well-being of its crew, with accommodations that stand out for their size and quality. Located forward on the lower deck, the crew quarters can house eight members across four en suite cabins. The quarters include a generous crew mess and a separate laundry area, highlighting the thoughtful design and consideration extended to all individuals on board.
