Delivered in 2021, Viva is a multi-award winning 94m (308ft) motor yacht built by Dutch shipyard Feadship. The yacht's elegant exterior design is by Azure Yacht Design, while her interiors are the work of Peter Marino.

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminum superstructure she features a 14m (45.9ft) beam and a 3.9m (12.8ft) draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 2,999 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a helipad.

Construction of Project 817 began in late 2015 for a repeat American client, Frank Fertitta III, a prominent US businessman known for his significant contributions to the gaming and entertainment industry. The yacht was designed with a closed stern and a plumb bow, and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in February 2021 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in June 2021. Viva was Feadship's second launch in 2021. 

Exterior Design

Viva features a plumb bow and minimal overhangs between decks, contributing to its contemporary profile. The integration of floor-to-ceiling glass across the structure not only accentuates the yacht's sleek appearance but also enhances the onboard experience with expansive views.

Attention to detail is evident in the functionality of the superstructure. Traditional hinged doors have been replaced with electric sliding doors that close flush against the surface, eliminating the need for visible handles, hinges, or recesses. This approach extends to all areas of access, including crew entry points, deck lockers, and guest entrances.

The hull of Viva is painted in a distinctive pearl-white finish, a deliberate choice to complement the yacht's efficient design. Despite the challenges posed by incorporating the largest tenders and hull doors seen on a Feadship, the 14-meter beam accommodates these features without compromise to performance.

Structural integrity is not sacrificed for the sake of aesthetics. The absence of bulwarks is counterbalanced by a reimagined approach to the yacht's structural design, ensuring stability and safety. The glass panels are not only visually impressive but are also integral to the yacht's overall design ethos.

When the judging panel of the Motor Yacht of the Year category at The World Superyacht Awards stepped aboard Viva, they were struck by the challenges imposed by the intricacies of the interior design. The yacht omits doorknobs, latches, or any visible connection points that might divert attention from her sleek lines. The secret ballot unveiled Viva as the clear winner of the coveted award, with a significant margin. The comprehensive excellence resulted from meticulous attention to every aspect of the vessel, including the thoughtful omission of doorknobs.

Accommodation

Viva offers accommodation for up to 16 guests in eight suites. The owner's suite graces the upper deck, while the guest cabins occupy the main deck amidships. These cabins are interconnected by a staircase crafted from a single piece of mirrored stainless steel, lauded by a guest as "a work of art never before seen on a yacht."

The Feadship is capable of carrying up to 38 crew onboard to ensure a full guest service. 

Performance & Capabilities

The yacht Viva demonstrates mechanical prowess with an advanced hybrid powertrain allowing for an efficient 12 knots cruising speed under diesel-electric propulsion, with all emissions undergoing catalytic treatment. Propelled by twin diesel-electric MTU (16V 4000 M73L) 16-cylinder 3,916hp engines operating at 2050rpm, motor yacht Viva can achieve a top speed of 20 knots. Additionally, Viva is equipped with stabilizers to enhance on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, especially in challenging waters.

Viva features three pools, a 14m tender, and the longest hull doors on any Feadship at the time of her build.
