Feadship deliver 84m superyacht OBSIDIAN

Feadship has successfully delivered the striking 84m custom superyacht OBSIDIAN, the first superyacht of Feadship's new generation to further reduce emissions and impact on the environment.

Said to be even more energy-efficient than the first Feadship hybrid SAVANNAH from 2015, OBSIDIAN has Feadship’s Advanced Electrical Drive (FAED integrated, meaning she can store 4.5 times more electricity.

Combining elements such as weight control, propulsion technologies, and the use of the more eco-friendly Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) fuel, OBSIDIAN has proven the potential to drastically reduce carbon emissions by a staggering 90%, compared to superyachts running on fossil fuels.

Running on HVO during her sea trials in June 2023, OBSIDIAN surpassed expectations and using the Yacht Environmental Transparency Index (YETI) for guidance, Feadship determined that she will have around a 60% reduction in environmental impact while running on HVO, or a 27% cut while burning fossil fuels.

Formerly known as Project 710, construction for OBISIDIAN began in 2020 with collaborative design input from well-known studios RWD and Monk Design.

Hosting abundant unique features such as the "Aqua Lounge" with underwater vistas and a diagonal swimming pool, OBSIDIAN excels at providing onboard guests with boundless connections to the great outdoors, with ample alfresco dining and lounge options plus a waterside terrace just 75cm above sea level.
