First production-series electric megayacht tender launched

RIB manufacturer Zodiac Nautic has created the first production-series electric yacht tender, targeted at yachts of 30.5m (100ft) and larger, to allay concerns about emissions.

The Avon eJET 450 breaks ground amongst tenders for sale by not only offering silent and clean performance, but also instant torque, thanks to a BMWi3 battery working with a high-performance 55 Kw electric engine, that allows it to match and surpass its combustion-engine based competitors.

With a real focus on energy efficiency, everything on the eJET, from hull to propulsion, has been designed and engineered meticulously. The lightweight materials and lean shapes mean the tender deflects more spray, rides more smoothly and consumes less fuel.

It also delivers on the speed front, being able to reach over 30 knots in almost complete silence thanks to its electric propulsion.

At top speed you will get around an hour and a half of use from the eJET, but under normal circumstances you can expect the high performance BMWi3 battery to provide around four hours of use.

Measuring around 4.5m (14.8ft) long and with a beam of 2m (6.6ft), the eJET 450 can seat six people. It is designed specifically for yachts for sale above 30.5m (100ft).
