Wooden Boats’ LimoTender BLU offers Dolce Vita styling

Drawing inspiration from the 1950s/60s, this all-new tender is a head-turner.

Despite making its debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2023, this 1950s/60s-styled tender continues to draw attention and we can see why.

Inspired by Federico Fellini’s classic film, Dolce Vita, Wooden Boats’ founder Marco Arnaboldi designed the LimoTender BLU 8.3m with sleek, sloping lines reminiscent of the era. It was originally commissioned by the owner of a 55m (179ft) yacht.

Despite being designed as a one-off vessel, the popularity of the LimoTender BLU 8.3m has prompted the boat builder to make the tender a series, with a plethora of customization options.

Built using a combination of traditional wooden craftsmanship with modern composites and carbon fiber, the LimoTender BLU 8.3m has a beam of nearly 2.7m (9ft) and offers both luxury and comfort for those onboard. The tender features air-conditioned settees, open seating aft for 12 passengers, and interiors covered with mahogany, teak, and leather. Other amenities include USB ports, a six-speaker sound system, Wi-Fi, and indirect LED lighting. A folding swim platform also allows for easy water access.

The LimoTender BLU 8.3m is designed for practical versatility, with the option to be stored in a dedicated tender garage or towed by the mothership. Its innovative design allows the deckhouse to lower to gunwale level, reducing its height to just under 1.5m (5ft) and making it suitable for tender bays with limited overhead clearance. When fully extended, the deckhouse offers 1.8m (5.9ft) of headroom inside. The future models will all be highly customizable, allowing for various configurations of the bridge and seating arrangements to suit specific owner preferences.

Engineered with a deep-V hull, the LimoTender BLU 8.3m supports both inboard and stern-drive power. Even when fully loaded, it is designed to cruise comfortably at 30 knots, with a top speed of 35 knots.
