Wooden Boats 14m tender ready to join superyacht

Wooden Boats has announced that its new 14m (46’) WB14 limousine tender has completed her sea trials and is ready to join the mothership of the superyacht it was custom designed and built for.

With a beam of 3.5m (11.5’) the design of the WB14 was inspired by traditional Venetian taxi boats with the client requesting Wooden Boats “combine composite materials and the latest technologies with classic lines”.

The Italian shipyard collaborated with Giorgio Cassetta on the sleek, low-slung exterior styling of the tender. Cassetta was also responsible for the interior design, with its forward helm station and aft guest cockpit akin to the layout of traditional Venetian taxi boats. Two generous sofas provide plenty of space for welcoming guests on board.

Heading inside a luxuriously designed sunken deckhouse lets guests connect with the natural environment in atmospheric surroundings. Natural light and ventilation flood the interior thanks to the sliding glass skylights and guests can enjoy unobstructed views with perfectly positioned side windows.

The teak lined, leather upholstered and fully air-conditioned interior seats up to 14 guests. LED lighting and fold down seat backs with glass holders further enhance the relaxed ambiance.

Despite her relatively modest 370-hp twin engines the WB14 can hit a maximum speed of 40-knots, with a cruising speed of 34-knots. Her speed is aided by a carbon fiber build using vacuum resin infusion, and a weight of just over 7 tonnes.

An important feature during the current Coronavirus pandemic is the fact an ozone system ensures automatic sanitization on board after each use, giving each arriving guest complete peace of mind when they step onboard.

For the ease of the crew the WB14 also employs Wooden Boats patented launch and retrieval system. The superstructure lowers too so she can fit into limited-height tender garages.

Wooden Boats was set up in 2012 by Marco Arnaboldi, who was former director and founder of AB Yachts. They are based in Viareggio, Italy and have collaborated with a number of leading Italian brands to create 18 custom tenders in the past eight years.

The WB14 has been built for an unnamed Italian megayacht. If you are considering a tender for your yacht, view all tenders for sale.
