Heesen Yachts has announced the launch of its 50m (164ft) Project Altea at the Dutch yard’s Oss facility.
The 50m (164ft) full aluminum motor yacht is the third vessel from its 5000 Aluminium FDHF class and the second project built on Heesen’s efficient Nova Plus design and engineering platform.
ALTEA is based on Heesen’s Fast Displacement Hull designed to offer increased efficiency, speed, performance and a shallow draft of just 2.15m (7ft).
She is the design work of Omega Architects and Cristiano Gatto with naval architecture by Heesen's go-to partner Van Oossanen, the end result is characterized by a long waterline and floor-to-ceiling windows. A gently reversed stem with pronounced spray rails gives her a distinctive look.
Up to 12 guests can be accommodated in six elegant staterooms. Along with two social lounge areas, they give almost 350 square meters of space in her tranquil and warm interiors.
PROJECT ALTEA is expected to reach a top speed of 19.5 knots in her impending sea trials, with a range of 3,750nm at a speed of 12 knots.

The esteem in which Heesen’s 5000 Aluminium FDHF line is held is shown by the fact PROJECT ALTEA’s two predecessors, motor yacht ERICA and motor yacht HOME, picked up five award wins and three nominations between them.
