Historic Feadship Rescued

A historic motor yacht that was at the time the largest Feadship ever constructed has been discovered lying forgotten in storage.

On her launch in 1952 the 25m (82ft) Anahita V was both the largest Feadship ever constructed and the first yacht from the company to be exported to the USA.

She was found in storage at Ferguson Marine in Glasgow, Scotland after the shipyard went bankrupt in 2019, and has now been listed for sale.

The vintage motor yacht has a colorful past and spent the first part of her life on the East Coast of the USA before moving on to California where she cruised between San Diego and Mexico.

It was during this period that she was seized by the US authorities for undeclared importations and spent several years in federal ownership. In the 1980s she was sold at auction, with her next owner living on board for thirty years before selling the historic vessel to racing car driver Chapman Ducote.

FEadship Anahita V on water

Ducote had planned to refit her with Feadship in late 2015, but these plans never materialized.

ANAHITA V still sports original details including a teak hull, mill work and bulkheads but does require extensive restoration to return her to a serviceable condition and, hopefully, to her former glories.

Anahita V is believed to be the oldest surviving Feadship, with the Dutch yard going from strength to strength over the intervening decades. Its name is now synonymous with some of the world’s biggest and best superyachts. To explore their entire fleet view all Feadship yachts for sale.
