Qatar's maritime sector is set for a significant boost as Milaha and the Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ) unveil plans for the Milaha Yachts and Ships Yard. This $22m (QAR 80m) facility will be located at the Marsa Port within the Umm Alhoul Free Zone.
The agreement was signed at the 2024 Qatar Boat Show, and attended by high-profile officials including the Minister of Transport, H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti, and Milaha’s Board Chairman, H.E. Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al-Thani.
The new yard, spanning 22,000 square meters, will feature two covered sheds, three workshops, and a vast open yard, aimed at meeting the rising demand for yacht and ship maintenance services. It will cater to luxury superyachts, naval ships, and traditional dhows, offering refits, upgrades, and repairs.
