Ocean Alexander has become the latest shipyard to demonstrate the strength of the yachting market after revealing it has delivered eight new yachts in the second quarter of the year.
The Taiwanese yard follows in the footsteps of Baglietto, AB Yachts and Maiora who have all also revealed strong sales numbers recently.
Six of the eight yachts were from Ocean Alexander’s glass-clad Revolution series, with three 28m (92ft) Revolution models, two 26m (85ft) models and a 35m (115ft) model sold.
The range has proved popular thanks to its high ceilings, large interior volumes and assortment of entertaining areas. That was the case with the most recent set of sales with the various owners citing space, layout and the “stunning skylounge” as the reasons behind the purchases. The largest sale, the 35m Revolution, was in the words of the yard “a very detailed custom project”.
The remaining two yachts sold were a 32L and a 36L from its Legend series, which offers a more classical cruising style. The new buyers were impressed by the five-cabin layout and the engineering and elegance of the motor yachts.
In the past fortnight Baglietto revealed it has sold two of its 40m (131ft) DOM133 yachts in as many weeks, whilst sister shipyards AB Yachts and Maiora revealed four and three yacht sales respectively in the past two months.
With manufacturing bases in American and Taiwan, Ocean Alexander produces a range of yachts 25m (84ft) to 36m (120ft). The next couple of years look to be a busy period for the yard with a total of 24 yachts in the order book to be built and delivered.
