Recently, Australian luxury motor yacht builder Riviera celebrated a significant milestone by launching its 6,000th motor yacht at its production facility on Queensland’s Gold Coast. This achievement surpasses the production numbers of yacht builders Hatteras and Bertram during their peak periods.
The 6,000th motoryacht, an Iridium silver-hulled 5400 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition, will be delivered to long-time Riviera owners Peter and Denise Haig. Peter Haig, who purchased his 10th Riviera, praised the company's design evolution over the years.
During the launch ceremony, Riviera's CEO Rodney Longhurst expressed gratitude to Haig, and the event was commemorated by the 950-strong Riviera team, all donning special shirts to mark the occasion.

The launch of the Sport Yacht Platinum Edition in 2019 marked a significant milestone for Riviera, with over 230 units of this exclusive model sold to date. Longhurst, a lifelong boater and Riviera owner himself, took a hands-on approach to leading the company, leveraging his experience in the carpentry trade to guide the team to success.
Addressing the assembled team, Mr. Haig said he had been a proud Riviera owner since 1988, and that "the design evolution over the 36 years that I have owned Rivieras has been phenomenal."
Founded in Sydney in 1980, Riviera moved to its current purpose-built facility in Coomera in 2000, an expansive 26-building plant spanning 41 acres (16.8 hectares), making it the largest facility of its kind in the southern hemisphere. Supported by a global network of representatives, Riviera exports over 60% of its annual production, with the US serving as a key market.
