Italian-based Sanlorenzo has joined the list of shipbuilders reporting impressive sales figures by celebrating three launches in 15 days.
The yard has recently launched the fourth and fifth units of its 44ALLOY designs and the sixth unit of its 52Steel from its La Spezia shipyard.
It follows in the footsteps of a number of yards who have all demonstrated the strength of the superyacht industry at present, including a series of fellow Italian builders. Baglietto revealed it had sold two 40m (131ft) DOM133 yachts in a fortnight, whilst sister shipyards AB Yachts and Maiora revealed four and three yacht sales respectively in the past two months. Most recently Taiwanese yard Ocean Alexander announced it had delivered eight yachts between April and June.
Sanlorenzo’s 44.5m (146ft) 44ALLOY is a fast-displacement superyacht built, as its name suggests, entirely in aluminum. It has drawn much attention for its huge owner’s cabin, which covers 147 square meters (1,582 sq. ft) and features a 70 square meter (753 sq. ft) sleeping area and a 66 square meter (710 sq. ft) area on the upper deck with an indoor studio, sundeck, swimming pool and a furnished terrace overlooking the sea. The yard claims it is a “design never seen before on a superyacht of this size”.
The 52Steel has picked up a number of awards since the first unit, ‘Seven Sins’, was delivered in 2017. It features an eye-catching beach club illuminated by the transparent main deck swimming pool above and comes complete with folding terraces to create even more relaxation space.
The Ligurian-Tuscan shipyard has been one of the busiest shipyards in recent years delivering 183 yachts in the last five years alone. There are already a further 61 yachts in the order book and set to be delivered by 2024, including eighth units of both the Alloy and 52 Steel ranges.
