The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show has now officially closed its doors on the celebratory diamond anniversary edition. Witnessing more than 100,000 visitors throughout the five day event, the electric atmosphere was felt over the seven locations and heightened even more so around the prestigious motor yachts making their debuts.
In addition to the inaugural appearance of the highly anticipated Superyacht Village, there were many headliners for the FLIBS 2019 event including the Best In Show award winner Majesty 140 from Majesty Yachts and the show's largest megayacht MADSUMMER from Lürssen.

MADSUMMER | Lürssen
Appearing at the brand new Superyacht Village, the 311ft megayacht certainly made a breathtaking impact at the show. Designed in collaboration with Harrison Eidsgaard on the exteriors and Studio Laura Sessa for the interiors, the vessel was built to PYC regulations by the German shipyard.
As the largest yacht exhibiting at FLIBS 2019, MADSUMMER had a lot of hype to live up to, and she definitely delivered. Her sweeping lines and highly indulgent master suite with 180 degree views left their mark, in addition to multiple integrated highlights such as the 12 metre swimming pool plus voluminous spa and wellness area.
Majesty 140 | Majesty
Best In Show award winner for the FLIBS 2019 edition, the Majesty 140 from Majesty Yachts USA made a grand entrance to the scene at the world's biggest in-water boat show. As an extension to the event, FLIBS displayed new exhibitors from Dubai and Turkey in their 60th anniversary edition, with Majesty being one of the new arrivals.
The sweeping Majesty 140 has a vast expanse of glazing for panoramic views around the interiors, plus a generous waterfront terrace area aft, complete with a pair of fold out balconies. In addition to the luxuriously accommodating interiors finished with the finest Italian wood and leather, main key features also include a mesmerising waterfall from the hardtop flowing in to the Jacuzzi on the sun deck.
BABA'S | Hargrave Custom Yachts
Another new addition to FLIBS for 2019, Turkish shipyard Hargrave Custom Yachts brought their largest Lloyds 100 A-1 Commercial Class certified yacht BABA'S for her global debut. Powered by Tier 4 Caterpillar 3512 engines, she has a maximum speed of 18 knots and is constructed with steel and aluminum.
A spacious beach club environment is situated at the stern, along with multiple relaxation areas around the exteriors for exceptional sweeping views of the surrounding areas. Interiors are of generous proportions with a six-cabin layout. Overnight accommodation comprises of a full beam master on the main deck, a VIP on the upper deck plus a further four generously sized guest cabins on the lower deck.
VIDA | Heesen
Another iconic vessel proudly displayed in the new Superyacht Village, the five-cabin 55 metre Dutch vessel VIDA attracted a lot of attention with her eye catching exteriors by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects. Offering a maximum speed of 16 knots, VIDA features collaborative interiors from Be Design and the in-house Heesen team.
As a vessel prioritising eco-aware facilties such as lower fuel consumption rates, the highlights of the 180ft superyacht largely revolve around the concept of enjoying the great outdoors. Key features include 250 square metres of entertainment space, plus a 110 sqm sundeck and sky lounge which is almost entirely wrapped around with glass.
V78 | Princess
The flagship model for the V Class from British shipyard Princess, the V78 is powered by twin MAN V12 engines with a promoted top speed of 39 knots. The hydraulic swim platform leads the way to a comfortable aft deck area with sunpads to a well positioned galley which can serve both exterior and interior areas. The main salon itself benefits from additional light from an electric roof, with plenty of seating for all guests to socialise throughout the day or night.
On the lower deck a four-cabin layout, with additional berths for two crew, allows up to eight guests to stay onboard, utilising the contemporary looking windows for plenty of natural light in the night area.
