At Lusben’s Viareggio-based shipyard, SOFIA 3, a 42m (138ft) Baglietto superyacht has been technically launched following upgrade and refurbishment works.
While at the site, layout adjustments and mechanical modifications were undertaken, in addition to giving the vessel’s hull and superstructure a fresh coat of paint.
Alongside the exterior repaint in a dark grey shade, the ceilings were also adorned with a wood-like paint to add warmth to the interior. The sundeck layout has also been enhanced, with the addition of a new sofa and teak deck, while outdoor ceilings were refurbished with marine ply paneling.
The structural improvements that took place addressed water infiltration and corrosion issues, with extensive glazing replacements, including the wheelhouse windows.
The collaboration between the Baglietto superyacht’s owners and the shipyard began in 2018 when Lusben was tasked with a stern extension and pop-out transformer installation before the yacht's relocation to the USA. Further work was then commissioned in November 2022, spanning seven months and featuring various upgrades.
Following the completion of these enhancements, SOFIA 3 will now undergo interior outfitting according to designs by La Mandragola, another Viareggio-based company.
