Wajer Yachts announces takeover of Zaadnoordijk Yachtbuilders

Dutch shipyard Wajer Yachts has announced the acquisition of Zaadnoordijk Yachtbuilders as both yards look towards a strong future as partners.

Previously teaming up on multiple projects including the launch of the 23.5m (77ft) Wajer 55, Wajer Yachts and Zaadnoordijk Yachtbuilders have worked together for two decades as separate entities.

Heightening the chances of longevity in the yachting industry, the acquisition holds nothing but positivity, with Jan Muller, the Owner and director of Zaadnoordijk Yachtbuilders, expressing delight that the two brands are 'continuing under one flag'.

The same level of enthusiasm has been shown by Dries Wajer, the director of Wajer Yachts, who has commented that the history the brands share has enabled them to continue trading in such a way.

Moving forwards from the merge of the two shipyards, Wajer Yachts states they will be continuing the production of the upcoming Wajer 77 in the yard at Lemmer.

The Wajer 38 series will be continuing at Zaadnoordijk in Heerenveen, while the Wajer 55 series will stay put in at the yard in Heeg.
