On Deck

Nick appreciated the hi-lo platform capable of lifting a decent-sized tender, like a Williams 345, and noted the convenient storage for marine essentials such as canopies and ropes.

The smart design of the glass transom and the seating arrangement in the cockpit is highlighted, these allow for relaxation and socializing facing the water. The overhang features a shade that drops down, which is particularly useful for privacy and protection from the sun. Also in the cockpit area are a bar, side doors on both sides of the yacht for easy access to the quay, stern docking controls, rope handling winches, and well-crafted stainless steel work.

The flybridge, which is deemed perfect for the owner-operator, features a barbecue, sink, fridge, ice maker, and an upper helm providing an excellent vantage point for navigating. There are plenty of places to entertain up here and sunbathe. Deep bulwarks add a sense of security while moving around the deck.

Interior

Inside, the decor of the yacht has an Italian influence, with pale woods and fine finishes. The galley layout includes electric cooking, a dishwasher, and cleverly designed storage solutions, including a hidden sink and a neat bin compartment. There is plenty of refrigeration, with a spacious fridge and freezer and a wine cooler in the bar area next to the galley.

In the saloon, there is a retracting and swiveling TV that can be adjusted for viewing from different areas of the yacht. Nick found the dinette area with fold-out tables and floor-level windows, offering expansive views and ample light, to be a well-thought-out space for dining and lounging.

The lower helm station right in front of the saloon displays a slight trawler yacht feel with its upright wheel and comprehensive controls, including joystick control for easy maneuvering.

From the helm, stylish steps lead down to the lower deck which features a three-cabin layout. The VIP cabin in the bow has its own en suite that could also serve as a day head, accessible from the corridor.

Nick found cabin three to be a decent twin-bed setup with good headroom, though he questioned the necessity of a separate day head given the en suite's dual access.

The owner's cabin impresses with its full beam, large hull windows, and elegant finishes. He noted the well-equipped en suite and the convenient inclusion of a washer dryer on the lower deck.

Crew Accommodation

The single crew cabin is functional for short stays or occasional crew, but is not intended for full-time liveaboard crew and could be used as storage/extra sleeping.

Performance

The engine room features a V-drive system that allows for more cabin space by positioning the engines over the shafts instead of in front of them. Twin MAN i6 740hp diesel engines produce 730 horsepower each, offering a top speed of 26 knots, cruising at 20 knots. At an economic speed of 8 knots, a range of 800 nautical miles can be achieved. Also featured are Kohler generators and a Seakeeper stabilizer system.

In Summary

Throughout the tour, Nick showcased his expertise and attention to detail, noting the yacht's many features, the clever use of space, and the luxurious finishes. He was clearly impressed with the Azimut Magellano 60's design, which catered to a comfortable and stylish boating experience. Nick highlighted the Italian build and styling of the yacht, emphasizing its focus on comfortable living, with a design leaning towards a trawler-like experience rather than a typical flybridge.
