Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 40'8" beam and a 11'4" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 2,293 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a heli-pad.

Construction started in early 2014. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in February 2016 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in June 2016.

Exterior Design

Cloudbreak is equipped with an ice belt and an "integral wave breaker" in the inclined shape of the Portuguese bridge forward, a testament to its sturdy and resilient design. The outdoor space of the aft main deck is dedicated to the stowage of two large tenders, concealed from view by a system of louvres while allowing light to permeate the space. The yacht's exterior also includes an array of lights and speakers, making it an ideal platform for entertainment.

Above the bridge is a pool with room for 10, and a half level above that, atop the viewing room, is a private retreat area with a sofa and beds that can be enclosed with nets for spending nights under the stars. Higher still is a private crow's nest that provides a fantastic viewpoint, proving the vessel's dedication to outdoor enjoyment.

The helideck doubles as the party deck, equipped with marine-grade speakers and woofers scattered through the decks and an extensive set of lights - both on deck and underwater - offering myriad color combinations to set the perfect party scene.

Cloudbreak is not just a yacht; it is a floating luxury resort that offers a unique and adventurous holiday experience.

Interior Design

When stepping aboard Cloudbreak, guests are greeted by a decor that is anything but uniform. A liquid amber veneer adds contrast to lighter woods, such as hornbeam on the floors, brushed or scored pine and oak added for texture, and lacquered surfaces. The aim was to emulate the warm and welcoming atmosphere of a chalet, but far removed from the stereotypical wooden A-frame with antlers over the fireplace. The result is a timeless, beautiful design that exudes luxury and comfort.

The innovative and technically astute design can be seen in the guest cabins' outer walls, painted with lacquer and curved to give the impression of a shell. The shapely white surface picks up and amplifies light flowing from the portholes during the day. This is one of several ways the designer has modulated and amplified the perception of space, ensuring that even amidst the vastness of the sea, guests never feel confined.

The main deck features an itinerary-viewing room at the entrance to the saloon, complete with low modern seating and a row of screens. The YachtEye system, from Oculus Technologies, provides visually appealing 3D information as to heading, location, speed and more.

Further inside, the Winter Garden on the upper deck is an eye-catching marvel. This large area, filled with comfortable low seats and tables, can be fully enclosed with sliding glass panels and heated, or completely opened to become a delightful covered exterior feature. This multi-season, multi-purpose area was so uniquely designed that it helped Cloudbreak win the 2017 Showboats Design Award for Best Interior Layout and Design for a motor yacht in her class.

Accommodation

Cloudbreak can accommodate up to 12 guests in six spectacular cabins. Each cabin is designed with a soothing colour palette that creates a comforting ambience, a perfect haven after a day of thrilling adventure. The cabins are adorned with an interesting treatment of outer walls, painted with lacquer and curved to give the impression of a shell. This unique design amplifies the natural light flowing from the portholes, creating a bright and spacious environment. The heated floors in the showers add an additional touch of luxury that sets this yacht apart.

A standout feature is a 60-metre-long corridor on the lower deck that leads directly from the beach club to the five guest cabins and crew quarters. This design allows guests to return straight to their cabin after enjoying the sauna or the gym, ensuring complete privacy and convenience.

Cloudbreak also offers remarkable accommodation for its crew. The yacht is well-equipped to house up to 22 crew members, ensuring a seamless and exceptional service for all guests on board. The crew quarters are thoughtfully placed, with separate mess and lounge areas. In addition, the necessary crew such as pilots and sports instructors have their own dedicated cabins.

Performance & Capabilities

Cloudbreak is powered by twin 16-cylinder Caterpillar engines. These powerhouses provide a robust propulsion system, effectively driving the yacht through diverse and challenging sea conditions. The generators, indispensable for powering all onboard systems, are enclosed in soundproofed compartments, a feature that ensures a tranquil and peaceful environment for guests, irrespective of the yacht's speed or location.

Cloudbreak boasts a remarkable cruising speed and range, allowing for extensive exploration of the world's most enchanting destinations. The yacht can reach speeds of up to 15 knots, an impressive feat for a vessel of its size. Furthermore, Cloudbreak has a range of approximately 7,500 nautical miles when cruising at 13 knots. This extensive range allows for long voyages and exploration of remote locations without the need for frequent refuelling stops.

Integral to the yacht's outstanding performance are the stabilizers that ensure a smooth and stable voyage. Even in challenging sea conditions, the stabilizers work to reduce the roll motion effect, making the journey more comfortable and enjoyable for guests.

The vessel is equipped to be autonomous in remote areas, carrying ample supplies and food, and equipped with systems for making freshwater and treating and storing waste until a port with sufficient infrastructure is reached.

Built for long-range expeditions and cross-planet adventures, superyacht CLOUDBREAK is the perfect balance of modern explorer yacht and luxurious home-away-from-home.

Amenities

A gym with all the latest equipment allows her guests to keep their workout routines while at sea. In addition, a generous beach club offers direct access to the ocean. The yacht features a tender garage with storage for a range of toys and accessories. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort, while underwater lights create a dazzling light display when the sun goes down. Cloudbreak also features deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
